Time to sign a veteran WR?

With the recent spike in the number of WR's, is it time to sign a veteran? I love the picks of Sidney Rice and Aundre Alison, but they only added to the "inexperience" of our WR corps.
The tone after the Bobby Wade signing was that our WR's were athletic, unproven, and full of POTENTIAL.
Don't get me wrong, I think Williamson can bust of of his shell this year, but I question who the young guys will look up to.
I know there has been talk and interest in Eric Moulds before the draft, so is it time to bring in a guy who has proven himself as a quality WR? If not him, McCardell? What do you guys think?

I personally think that we'll be fine. I say we save money this year and look at receivers next offseason. I'm sure there will be a plethora compared to this year's measly crop.

BTW, does anyone have a link at all to next years free agents? I looked and couldn't find one...

    I would have to agree.
I don't think a senior WR is necessary at this point.
Especially for the money that anyone would demand this year.

George Stewart is a phenominal addition to the coaching staff and I think he will be able to take these inexperienced players and make use of all their potential.

I think our offense will go from HORRIBLE last year to good this year. . . . .
    not great yet, but good.
We have a serious run threat with the combo of Chester & Adrian, we have some WRs that COULD be VERY dangerous to opposing offenses, and a QB that will, hopefully, come into his own this year.

We were only a few points away from being 10-6 last year.
I think we added the talent needed to get over that little hump!

What veteran FA WR do you recommend that would fit our KA WCO?

Re: Time to sign a veteran WR?

I think it depends on what WRs become available.
There are not any out there right now that are worth the $$ they want.
If one comes along, expect Coach Childress to make a play.
If not, we will go in with a young WR corps with a lot of potential...

Re: Time to sign a veteran WR?

I was in favor of Moulds before.
The fact that he hasn't been signed yet makes me reconsider, in fact I don't think any team has had him come in to look at him.

McCardell hasn't shown much interest either.

    Who else is there?
We would have to trade for somebody worthy of displacing one of the young potential guys when it comes to final roster time.

George Stewart the WR coach should help these young guys progress.

    SKOL Evster, solid first post.

Re: Time to sign a veteran WR?

I think that Childress wanted to build his team through the draft, not free agency.

But, yeah... I am pumped about the AP pick and Sydney Rice pick. Does anyone know anything about Thigpen?

We'll see how these guys perform this year. With time they all will all be pretty good IMO.
