I like living in dream land too. Might as well package up something for Patrick Willis while you're at it.
    Lito*

And I'm not interested in Sheppard.

Haynesworth is pretty unreasonable IMO. He's tremendously talented, but he's lazy and frequently injured. Certainly not worth $100m.

There's nothing wrong with Leber, he played really well. Could we draft a player to replace the 31 year old down the road? Sure, but replacing him is by no means a pressing need.

I do like Clausen though. Seems like kind of a prick, and I'm not big on Notre Dame, but there's no denying his talent and NFL readiness.
You do realize that his contract (Lebers) is up next year right?

Not sure about how this the new environment works, but in the first 3 years under the CBA, the Vikes typically resigned/extended the guys they intended to keep long before now.

My guess is we will have a new/younger LB in there next year instead of resigning Ben. Not saying that is the smart thing to do, just what the staff has done in the past.

If that is gonna happen, I for one, hope they get a guy in to learn for this year instead of drafting one next year and throwing him to the wolves as has happened in the past.
No, I didn't realize that. Feels like we just signed him, can't believe it'll be 5 years already.

Weatherspoon would be a good pick, saw him play at the senior bowl and he looked great.

One thing I would be a fan of, is seeing how much the Redskins want for Landry. Rumour has it they may be shopping him before the draft. If we could get a good deal on him, I'd be a happy guy.
If we want a fast safety who misses tackles and can't cover we should just draft Taylor Mays. Actually we already have one, his name is Tyrell.

keep rippin on Whinny and I am likely to start rippin on Joey. Even though he is one of my all time fav Vikings, I will do it just to have my boy Antoin's back
Huge LOL......Well played my friend, well played.

On a side note, you've been around here long enough to know that just cause I say he's done doesn't mean that I don't like him. It just means that I have concerns. In this case, its health. Dude just can't stay healthy anymore.

We need to move him to a spot that lets him take some reps off so that we ensure we have him when we need him.
I say move him back to FS and let him do what he does best hit people. He can still line up over the slot & cover him and we have that position filled. I think we need to address that position and this would and keep Winfield out on the field. He's a little small but he hits like a safety but covers like a corner, he even has good speed for a S.
I do like that idea. It sounds like a good move for both the team and Whinny. The problem is I do not see us having a chance of acquiring 2 starting corners before next season.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

Tyrell is a great corner, he just doesnt fit this scheme. Really we need a Mayron Rolle type safety..smart, and can just protect n cover. tyrell is a blitzing safety and a man 2 man safety, Same with Madieu.

Fat albert is going for a low 3rd rounder right now.. I appreciate phat pat, but he is old and we can get fat albert for cheap! more than half of his contract has already been paid out so we can resign him for way less.

Clausen. We can trade up to miami. They are looking to fall deep back in the first round to get another LB or something. I think buffalo has WAY more pressing needs than QB.. Edwards still has a future and they need another WR/TE/OL/RB/ETC... QB is the least of their concerns. I believe that SF believes in Alex Smith because he excelled in a spread offense which they are now using. I predict san fran to go OL/WR/S/DT

We can get clausen at 12. Spielman, make it happen -_-

We send phat pat and a 3rd rounder to Washington for Fat Albert.

    We pick up Lito Sheppard.

Package our first round pick our fouth, and fifth and a second next year to move to 21 to pick Clausen... Miami needs the picks..
I like the first two suggestion, but not the last. I definitely don't want to move up to draft quarterback Clausen. I would take him if he was there with our current first round pick.

if we dont leave this draft without Clausen, McCoy, or Dan Leafour i will be pissed. McCoy has a noodle arm, he'll be like a weak armed Drew brees. Clausen looks like another Tom Brady, and Danny boy looks like a Flacco.

I would love to get haynesworth. Our D-line would be crazy scary. And hes actually not that expensive, I heard on nfl radio that he only has 3yrs 16mil left on his contract, so his contract shouldnt be an issue, and if we could really get him for a 3rd that would definitely be worth it.

    I wasn't aware of that.

If it's really 3 years $16million, it's a risk I'm willing to take. He might have to really play hard, elevate to the level of the guys around you.

If he's playing as hard as Kevin Williams and Jared Allen it would be pretty damn scary.
