Texans near deal to send Rosenfels to Vikings

This is the second year in a row in which the Vikings have been interested in acquiring Rosenfels as their starting quarterback. Rosenfels, who won six games in the last two seasons when replacing the injured Matt Schaub, is approaching the last year of his contract. If the trade is completed, the Vikings will want to extend Rosenfels' contract.

The Vikings have Tarvaris Jackson and Gus Frerotte on their roster. Jackson is a former second-round pick and Frerotte is a 14-year veteran.

They must really like this guy ;D. Atleast we are getting him at a discout from last year.

Already reported in two other threads... But given the impact that this would have on our FA, I guess it probably does merit one of its own.

Sage is Gus Ferrote but can actually throw and make a few plays on his own

If this is strictly back up.. I would love the move.. I feel better with him in then Gus

This should create some good QB competition in training camp and secure us a capable backup(whether it's Jackson or Rosenfels.)

Completion % - 66.7

4th round pick
7 years experience

The completion % is nice but I don't see how he is an upgrade. Competition, yes. Starter, I hope not.
