Tapp on wood, we get a good LB in the draft....

Darryl Tapp has been sneaking up the NFL draft boards after an impressive Senior Bowl week that showed his speed and nifty work with his hands could overcome his lack of height. He might be the kind of explosive linebacker who could help the Vikings in their new defensive scheme, which puts more pressure on linebackers in coverage.
Darryl Tapp is one of the nation’s most explosive defensive players who led the team with 10 sacks, 14.5 tackles-for-loss and 34 quarterback hurries.
A two-time first-team All-ACC selection, he was also a finalist for both the Lott and Hendricks national defensive awards in 2005.
The 6-1, 257-pounder from Chesapeake, Va., recorded 187 tackles during his career and had 40 tackles for loss and 21.5 quarterback sacks.
His stature at the Senior Bowl grew to the point that both 4-3 and 3-4 teams were courting him as the week progressed. It started with the New England Patriots asking him about possibly moving to outside linebacker and it wasn't long before other teams followed suit.
Tapp spoke with us on the pressure to perform in front of scouts, his off-season workouts to prepare for the combines and what teams have shown interest in him:
Maybe not a first rounder, but what about second?....First I read about him, but looks like a solid player...

I think we should get a rb in the first round and ol in the second
and get our linebackers in the free agency

I believe Tapp played DE at VA Tech and isn't exactly that speedy kind of LB we are supposidly looking for, for our tampa 2.

I don't get what they mean about his size, he's the same size as AJ Hawk.

I think that they are referring to his size as a DE, not an LB...he should play LB in the pros, since his size translates well at that position...the big question is whether his speed is enough to make the transition...anyone know his 40 time?

I think a good pic for taking a LB in the Second round is that LB from UTEP, think it is Thomas Howard, they say he is the fasted LB in draft right now, and since Minnesota is going cover 2 we need a LB that can drop back and cover, so i think he would be a good pick in the 2nd round if he is still available!!!
