Stay Put, Trade Up, Trade Down

OK, please state your opinion on the best draft strategy, whether it be:
    A. staying put at the draft slot allocated by the rules,
    B. trading up by giving up other picks or players, or
    C. trading down to acquire other picks or players.

    State your opinion.

Support your opinion with facts or logic.

    Trade down for more picks!
Is that clear and short enough?

First of all this should be a poll. But with this kinda question, there are so many different variables, depends upon the price. I wouldn't support giving up a few higher round picks for a shot at a very talented but very unproven player, especially when we have a number of needs that we need to fill this year. I would love to get CJ but there are certain variables. Personally I hate our position in the draft this year. And we must remember that not all good WR come out of a higher round, (Chad Johnson, Colston) I could name a number top WR today that came out of a lower round.

    Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

I agree, far too many variables to give a definitive answer but I'll try my best.
If calvin Johnson is available at the 2nd or 3rd picks and the respective teams are willing to trade down for a small asking price, pull the trigger.
If the answer is no the above question, stay put -or-
If there is no one worthy of the 7th pick in the draft available, trade down for more picks in a deep draft.

    Pretty simple.

someone should post that points chart for picks cuz then we'd know exactly what we'd have to give up to move up 4 spots to 3.
i think it's too much just cuz we have a bunch of needs.
as i'm sure you all know we didn't do much in free agency so you kinda hve to assume they are gonna try to get picks, and might move down twice.
i would not wanna move into the 20's though.
i think if we can move down just a couple spots, maybe to 12 with buffalo so they could get peterson if he drops, we can pick up another early 2nd rounder and have 3 picks in like the top 60.

then as some others have posted you can get a wr, de, and possibly another wr or te, depending on how much they are in love with what they got.
    there's always OL too.
qb in the 1st or 2nd i'm not too fond of.
maybe we pull off like a javon walker type trade, where we get a starter for a pick.
i just hope it's not for an old qb like trent green.

I'd say trade down, with more picks, more holes to fill right?
if they don't pay off in their first year, big chance they do it the next year after that

We have so many different needs that I would most like to see us trade down, and buckle up more picks in the draft.

Also as many others I think we could go for a WR in the draft, and I would rather see us take one of the mid 1st round prospects like Dwayne Bowe or Robert Meachem, as I see it unlikely that we could get our hands on Calvin Johnson without braking the bank in terms of much needed picks.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.
