Two things.........
1. Why the hell was Murphy not one of the 1st coaches, if not the first (along with Bevell) to be shit canned by Frazier? The fact those two weren't ousted right away or even at this point, makes me wonder if Frazier is our guy.
2. How horseshit does your ST play have to be, wherein your organization looks at the hiring of Murphy as an improvement at the ST coaching position?

Not sure why you think Murphy should have been the first to go. I thought special teams was one of our strengths this year(relative to our offense and defense and where they were.
Punt Net avg 9th
Punts inside the 20 5th
Kick returns avg 17th
Punt returns avg 21th
FG% 1st
Kickoffs(we kick) 23rd.
Ok not that impressive, but we did better than Carolina in every category.

You gotta admit that the bulk of those punt stats can be directly attributed to Kluwe's lights out performance this year. Not sure how much the ST coach is to thank for that. I have heard Kluwe in interviews mention that he's pretty much learned everything he is going to learn in his career and at this point it's all on him to execute the way he knows.

We have some solid players playing STs so I personally think that coaching is to blame for a fair share of those subpar return stats. Murphy probably took more heat than he deserved but I'm not sad to see him leave either.
Hester cost Murphy his job in Minnesota.

Hester will miss him and might demand to be traded to Atlanta, New Orleans, or Tampa Bay.

Hester and others made the Vikings return staff look poor; there is no doubt. The below average stats proved it.
