Spielmans Draft History
OK, Mr. A brought up a good discussion point in another thread that I spent a little (very little) researching to see what it would bring.
Using Draft History.com to find out who he had a hand in drafting and Football Reference DB to find out how many years they played, the following applies.
73 Players Drafted
31 Hits (16 were defensive Mr. A)
32 Misses
10 N/A's (These are guys on the Vikings roster now)
What I found more interesting than if he was successfull with defensive or offensive players (as Mr. A pondered), was how bad he was at resigning players.2010

What thread was this in?

Re: Spielmans Draft History
I'd imagine he's referring to the statement you made saying Spielman seems to do better acquiring D, and is pretty iffy with offens.e

Re: Spielmans Draft History
I can't remember, but it was something you said about he only made good picks on the defensive side or something like that.

Re: Spielmans Draft History
You'd be correct, but I didn't take it as a statement, but more of as a comment that would make a good thread.

Re: Spielmans Draft History
Well, I just said nobody's, not bad or good players. Just nobody's.

I assume you went in order of rounds? so the top picks are:
Cook
Harvin
Johnson
Peterson
Eddie Moore
Seth McKinney
Jamar Fletcher
Todd Wade
JJ Johnson
John Avery
Outside of Vikings, that's a pretty sad group of players.

Why ohhhhhhh whyyyyyyyy are you now trying to turn this into something other than that. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Spielmans Draft History
And I"m not accusing you of that, I'm simply stating facts.

Spielman has sucked at drafting. Outside of hitting with our top picks, and the odd good player like Donald Lee, Chris Chambers or Patrick Surtain (really the only decent players who aren't vikings on that list) his drafting record is god-awful. Alot of mediocre players can stay in the league for 4+ years, and when they highlight your draft classes, that's rough.
Simply stating that, not accusing you of anything.
