Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman talked about a variety of subjects in his discussion with reporters on Friday. Chip and I wrote about much of it in today’s coverage, which you can find by clicking here and here. One thing we did not get at was Spielman’s response to a question about making trades that could involve draft picks.....

Nice read Singer.
I didn't realize that Kelly Holcomb was still going to cost us a draft pic this year.
Now tha really sucks.
Another shot in the Ass from our QB Goru, Chillster.
I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

Aug 27, 2007: The Philadelphia Eagles traded Kelly Holcomb to the Minnesota Vikings for a sixth-round draft pick in 2009.

There might not be no down the road if we don't put together a championship team.If you give your bloodline away two years in a row, it can have significant consequences down the
road

I always finds this funny.
Offensively we have 4 at the most that gets regular minutes.
AD, Cook, Rice, and Jackson.
Of the 4 only AD has his position locked up.
Defensively we have Edwards and Griffin.
Maybe these numbers increase next season but so far for a team that builds through the draft they have very little to show for it.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

And probably Sully at center.
I think that a lot of the additions have been brought in through the draft.
Of course, that doesn't mean that we should ignore FA or trades, but I like the idea of being draftr centric.Zeus wrote:

He was "ok" during his rookie season but also had some real bad plays.
