Spielman: Big Vikings spending spree unlikely

Spielman says big Vikings spending spree unlikely

But the Vikings' personnel boss says more roster moves are possible, even at quarterback.

The Vikings aren't going to be significant players in the free-agent market, but that doesn't mean they won't attempt to upgrade their roster at various positions. And that includes quarterback....

Re: Spielman: Big Vikings spending spree unlikely

"I don't think you ever paint yourself into that we're set at [quarterback]," Spielman said.
Wonder why that concept is so hard to figure for some?
Maybe, just maybe the staff (the Chiller included) still isn't happy with what they have at QB my friends....

I think we're excited about our young guys. But if there is a guy out there who we feel can come in and potentially help us win ballgames, and we feel that strongly, we'll go ahead and make a run at it."
Translation.......

Well they have alot of potential but don't seem to be progressing as fast as we would like....

As for Birk's departure, Spielman declined to say whether he had any regrets about not beginning contract talks last summer or during the season.
Kindof a contridiction there.
For those of us that took the time to listen to the podcast, we heard that they did make a couple of offers late last year and during the summer not only to Matt but several of the players.....

Wonder which is the truth.....Press Spielman or Radio Spielman.

Re: See you in LA!!

Already posted......

By the way, our team went 10-6 in a division that no one is doing anything in.
Doesn't look so bleak to me when you look at it in that light.......

Anyway, what makes you think the small moves we've made now are the only things we are gonna do to get better.
Haven't even got through the second week of FA and the draft is still to come.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Re: See you in LA!!

This post, like many of your others, is pathetic.

1. There has been zero concrete evidence of a move to LA
2. The team was 10-6 and went to the playoffs last year.
3. There has been no mention of the team being sold.

Complete overreaction

Are you for real or what,
first of all!
1.) Unless this new stadium gets approved ( which has a snowballs shot in hell with the economy being in the crapper, plus we are the lowest revenue generating team in the NFL) Wilf is a businessman and he is going to get out while he can. Plus we are making moves like signing sage Rosenfels, yeah, that is going to put a lot of people in the seats!!)

2). Yeah we went 10-6, thanks in large part to having to play in the weakest division in the NFL, how do you think we would have done if playing in the NFC East?????? WE barely beat the friggin' Lions for Pete's sake!!! WE barely beat a Giants team palying with their 2nd squad most of the game, give me a break!)

3) There may have been no OFFICIAL mention of this team being sold but you would have to be living on the planet Mars not to hear all of the rumors (some very substantial) that this franchise has got one foot on the grave and the other on a banana peel!! Without this new stadium we are as good as gone!!

You could have done a quick search and added this to one of the many other threads on the same subject.

1) Wilf is commited to the Vikes and is willing to put alot of his own coin into the deal.. He isn't going to bail.. And the state is going to work something out.. I feel they know they can't lose the Vikes.. of course you don't feel that way.. But never the less Wilf is commited and the low revenue is due to the dome lease.. Without a lease like that we would generate much more revenue and actually completely sell out the new stadium

2) Doesn't matter 10-6 is just that.. 10-6.. We beat some pretty good teams as well.. And never lost a game by more then 7 points.. The Lions ALWAYS play us tough.. And the Giants played thier D starters up until the 3rd.. And some even played the full game.. Yes it wasn't the prettiest.. But it was a come back and we are a growing team

3) Just let it go man.. There are rumors for many teams.. Wilf is doing his part is trying to get this done.. And he will more then likely get us a stadium
