    Smoot to Redsticks?

You can go home — maybe
    Tuesday, February 27th, 2007
    by Judd Zulgad

The Washington Post reported today that many in the Redskins organization would be open to signing Fred Smoot if/when the cornerback is released by the Vikings this week. Smoot spent his first four seasons with Washington before signing as a free agent with the Vikings in 2005.

    The article where it's mentioned:

New Deal For Brunell Is Probable

...The Redskins are expected to make a push to sign free agent cornerback Nate Clements (Buffalo) and many in the organization would be open to bringing back former Redskins cornerback Fred Smoot if he is released by Minnesota this week as expected...

if anything dont release him I think Smoot could really have been a diffrence maker this year if he would have been kept. he only has a couple little things to shore up on his tackling has been someting to be desired, but hey he had some personal problems also maybe he jixed hinself to by coming to minnesota,But I think it would be unfortunate to see him go.

I understand where you are coming from MMLV, but I don't think his salary is justified given his play.
Granted, I think he actually had a decent year last year compared to '05, and his last couple of games were the best he ever played for the Vikes.
But he is the third best in a deep CB corps for us right now, and we need the cap room.

    It is sad for me.
    I liked Smooooooooot.

This is still a hot topic down here on our sports radio station (ESPN am 1310).
    Most want him back.
Same guys that wanted him gone
    ;D

I am indifferent to what happens with him.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I say if anything, use him as trade bait.. He is most likely going to be gone anyways with the word of Childress keeping Dwight Smith.. I see either Greg Blue, or Tank Williams starting opposite of Darren Sharper, and I see Dwight Smith moving back to CB.. That leaves Cedric Griffin, and Devonte Edwards in the mix as well.. Use Smoot as trade bait and see what we get in return for him..
