No way Miami drafts a RB, I mean maybe in a later round sure, but not on day one."Garland" wrote:
What!?Alot of what will decide if Gholston goes #1 is who is making the pick. I would not at all be surprised if Miami trades down to get more picks. Parcells knows that The Dolphins have alot of holes to fill, and picking up more picks or players would be a wise move. Don't be surprised if that happens and Miami goes QB, WR or yes belive it of not RB with the first pick.
Even with Ricky?
;D
Great showing he had in his season debut.
They have so many holes to fill RB is the last thing on their minds, unless they just want to get a talented player, tank this year, and get another high pick next year.

Gholston was a top 10 before the combine. This is the second one on here and I've seen at least 5 others on different sites that have Gholston going that high.
I guess my biggest issue with that is who was he before he posted all those monster workout numbers?
A gol 'darnit good DE but I wonder if he would've climbed the boards this high without those numbers on his game tape/production alone?
I guess I really need to revisit him a bit.
I like what you did with Ryan.
Unless Miami takes him (I don't think they will), I think he lands there as well.
Quick question, did you do a 2nd round?
If so were do you have Brohm going?
I am thinking Miami with thier second pick.
I'm sticking with Merling at 17 as well.
Even if he isn't 100% I don't think you can pass on that guy there.
If we were in the 10-12 range I would pass though.
Excellent mock my friend.
Again, hope to see a 2nd round out of ya.
;D
As for "who was he" people in the college arena know exactly who he was...a gol 'darnit good DE.
I do not see him as #1 though.
gol 'darnit good DE but wouldn't have got to the number 1 spot without his combine numbers.
;D
Just because he made the #1 of Skum's mock (or anybody elses for that matter) does not mean he is going to be the #1 pick.
Just because you or the 20 billion other mocks may have a player at #1 does not mean they are going to go there.
Mock shmock...it's all a guess.

Re: Skums latest mock draft..
I believe that Marrdro is referring to my mock, which also has Gholston going #1.
He is exactly the type of player Parcells loves: a physical specimen that plays with a high motor and has great production (see LT and D. Ware).Rock out with your cock out!!!

Re: Skums latest mock draft..
They're comparing gholston to a Lawrence Taylor type of player... in the 3-4... I could see that and could also see him going #1... same thing for Mario Williams a few years ago... combine #'s catapulted him to #1...
I think Gholston may be that guy...

;D.I always work without trades, but i think Brohm is a first round.. Eventually a team like the Falcons will trade up for him, could be very much possible to see a Falcons - Steelers trade on draftday.. However without any trades there just isnt a place for him.
I didnt do a second round, i rarely do that.. Its just so much more work..
Gholston is just a freak, Parcells knows what Ware did for the intire Dallas D alone, Gholston can do the same thing over at Miami, he would play the 3-4 Linebacker, not the defensive end in that system, thats very he just fits in perfectly.. His passrushing and his quickness plus his amazing strength is just amazing..
Miami passes on Gholston, he could proberly go to number 7 and the we should seriously consider sending a package to New England.. Here he would of course play the 4-3 DE but thats no problem either with the skills hes got..
Its not like that its only his numbers that has put him up there, he was very productive at Ohio State also.
I usually get 7 rounds done (without trades) but haven't got past round 3 for some reason this year.
2nd Round, Offensive Tackle
Sam Baker, USC
Carl Nicks, Nebraska
Will proberly be gone before we pick
Anthony Collins, Kansas
Gosder Cherilus, Boston College
3rd Round, Safety
DaJuan Morgan, NC State
Quintin Demps, UTEP
Simeon Castille, Alabama
3rd Round, Defensive Tackle
Ahthyba Rubin, Iowa State
DeMario Pressley, NC State
Dre Moore, Maryland
4th Round, Quarterback
John David Booty, USC
Dennis Dixon, Oregon
Kevin O'Connell, San Diego State
Might be gone
Josh Johnson, San Diego
And from 5 down, depth and players who can contribute as special teamers
I Like
Jamie Silva, Safety, Boston College
Kelin Johnson, Safety, Georgia
Spencer Larsen, Linebacker, Arizona
Should be gone
Tarvares Gooden, Linebacker, Miami
Chevis Jackson, Cornerback, LSU
Might be gone
Jo-Lonn Dunbar, Linebacker, Boston College
Vince Hall, Linebacker, Virginia Tech
DeJuan Tribble, Boston College
Jack Iwegougno(sp?), Wisconsin
Seems he might go as high as late 1rst round.
Seems guys like him (CB/S) kindof guys are sky rocketing up the boards this year.
He sounded like a very informative kid.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

What we were talking about is that there are alot of mock drafts out there that have him at number one and I pondered about what I was missing that would cause so many people (and there are a few of them out there now) to start listing him there. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

the 40 is over rated, he is a top 6/7 pick, but not 1st overall
