Skums latest mock draft..
Ive gotten critique for Dan Connor and Antoine Cason, but no matter who i pick for the Packers, its always wrong..
I hate those guys..
I know that Brandon Flowers has more press coverage experience, but Cason is better in both mesuarables and workouts so far. He has also played man coverage in Arizona, so its not like he is a strick cover corner that would be way out of the system.
Dan Connor i can understand the crituque ive gotten, however with Clady of the board i can see them go with the ILB after cutting Wilson and Gold the last two seasons.
Also a little bit about the KC and Pittsburgh picks, those are proberly not
the situations they want to be in.. both need desparate help at offensive line, but at their spots there are no real players worth that value..
I could see KC trade down to about the 9-14 area to pick Otah or Clady and Pittsburgh would likely trade down and maybe out of the first round for Anthony Collins or Sam Baker.
Here it is..
1. Miami Dolphins // Vernon Gholston, Defensive End - Outside Linebacker, Ohio State
2. St Louis Rams // Chris Long, Defensive End, Virginia
3. Atlanta Falcons // Jake Long, Offensive Takle, Michigan
4. Oakland Raiders // Glenn Dorsey, Defensive Tackle, LSU
5. Kansas City Chiefs // Sedrick Ellis, Defensive Tackle, USC
6. New York Jets // Darren McFadden, Runningback, Arkansas
7. New England Patriots // Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Cornerback, Tennessee State
8. Baltimore Ravens // Matt Ryan, Quarterback, Boston College
9. Cincinatti Bengals // Ryan Clady, Offensive Tackle, Boise State
10. New Orleans Saints // Keith Rivers, Outside Linebacker, USC
11. Buffalo Bills // Leodis McKelvin, Cornerback, Troy
12. Denver Broncos // Dan Connor, Inside Linebacker, Penn State
13. Carolina Panthers // Rashard Mendenhall, Runningback, Illinois
14. Chicago Bears // Jeff Otah, Offensive Tackle, Pittsburgh
15. Detroit Lions // Derrick Harvey, Defensive End, Florida
16. Arizona Cardinals // Agib Talib, Cornerback, Kansas
17. Minnesota Vikings // Phillip Merling, Defensive End, Clemson
18. Houston Texans // Chris Williams, Offensive Tackle, Vanderbilt
19. Philadelphia Eagles // DeSean Jackson, Wide Reciever, California
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers // Mike Jenkins, Cornerback, South Florida
21. Washington Redskins // Branden Albert, Offensive Guard, Virginia
22. Dallas Cowboys // Jonathan Stewart, Runningback, Oregon
23. Pittsburgh Steelers // Malcolm Kelly, Wide Reciever, Oklahoma
24. Tennessee Titans // Devin Thomas, Wide Reciever, Michigan State
25. Seattle Seahawks // James Hardy, Wide Reciever, Indiana
26. Jacksonville Jaguars // Trevor Laws, Defensive Tackle, Notre Dame
27. San Diego Chargers // Kenny Phillips, Free Safety, Miami
28. Dallas Cowboys // Limas Sweed, Wide Reciever, Texas
29. San Francisco // Quentin Groves, Defensive End-Outside Linebacker, Auburn
30. Green Bay Packers // Antoine Cason, Cornerback, Arizona
31. New York Giants // Jerod Mayo, Linebacker, Tennessee

Re: Skums latest mock draft..
This is the second one on here and I've seen at least 5 others on different sites that have Gholston going that high.
I guess my biggest issue with that is who was he before he posted all those monster workout numbers?
A damn good DE but I wonder if he would've climbed the boards this high without those numbers on his game tape/production alone?
I guess I really need to revisit him a bit.
I like what you did with Ryan.
Unless Miami takes him (I don't think they will), I think he lands there as well.
Quick question, did you do a 2nd round?
If so were do you have Brohm going?
I am thinking Miami with thier second pick.
I'm sticking with Merling at 17 as well.
Even if he isn't 100% I don't think you can pass on that guy there.
If we were in the 10-12 range I would pass though.
Excellent mock my friend.
Again, hope to see a 2nd round out of ya.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

As for "who was he" people in the college arena know exactly who he was...a damn good DE.
I do not see him as #1 though.

Re: Skums latest mock draft..
I always work without trades, but i think Brohm is a first round.. Eventually a team like the Falcons will trade up for him, could be very much possible to see a Falcons - Steelers trade on draftday.. However without any trades there just isnt a place for him.
I didnt do a second round, i rarely do that.. Its just so much more work..
Gholston is just a freak, Parcells knows what Ware did for the intire Dallas D alone, Gholston can do the same thing over at Miami, he would play the 3-4 Linebacker, not the defensive end in that system, thats very he just fits in perfectly.. His passrushing and his quickness plus his amazing strength is just amazing..
Miami passes on Gholston, he could proberly go to number 7 and the we should seriously consider sending a package to New England.. Here he would of course play the 4-3 DE but thats no problem either with the skills hes got..
Its not like that its only his numbers that has put him up there, he was very productive at Ohio State also.

Just because he made the #1 of Skum's mock (or anybody elses for that matter) does not mean he is going to be the #1 pick.

Re: Skums latest mock draft..
Nice work!
I see we are on the same page with several of these picks.
As for where Gholston came from, well, he played sparingly his first year, and missed his second with an injury, but has been a playmaker for the past two.
30.5 TFL and 22.5 sacks in two years is pretty freaking impressive.
Leaping 42" running a 4.57 40 and pressing the bar more than anyone his size seals the deal IMHO.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!
