Signing Draft Picks

Can someone give me an update here? I haven't heard of anybody being sign yet. I wasn't worried until ten minutes ago, when I read that the Bears just signed Forte (taken one pick after Johnson) and have agreed to terms with 11 of their 12 draft picks.

The signing of Forte gives us a close guess to how much Johnson will cost. Is the FO behing on this one? Why haven't we signed anybody yet?

Don't rookies report to camp in less than three weeks???

I am probably freaking out about nothing, I hope.

Traditionally, the Vikes don't sign a lot of their guys until after the 4th holiday.
The Bears do tend to get their guys [s]in camp[/s] signed sooner than a lot of teams.
I don't think there is anything to worry about, especially since we don't have a 1st rounder to sign.

With Forte being signed one pick after Johnson, it will establish the low end of his contract.
The vikes very well could wait for who ever was drafted in front of him to sign and then go from there.
Traditionall i think that approach tends to apply more towards the first round but it could happen in the second as well.
I remember when the Colts drafted Bob Sanders he held out for quite a while.
Lets hope Johnson gets signed on time so he can contribute as much as possible this season.

I can think of two reasons we haven't signed anyone yet...

1.
We want to get a good look at the 80 guys we have now, and when we start signing our draft picks, they will start counting against that limit, so someone else will have to be cut to make "official" room.

2.
This is the NFLs 2 weeks off.
After the holiday, our FO will be back to work.

We haven't had much trouble with signings since McKinnie, and I have faith that Bizdealski will get the job done on time.

yeah the kid understands that he's a second rounder..
he's not elite massive contract type.. but

i would rather then get signed and ready to play.. now here's the q..

his agent is gonna want to get the best deal for him..

the Vikes will say.. we offer this.. now.. if the kid really wants to play.. he should take it and prove his worth.

I would assume you are right on the mark with both my friend.

By the way, I like Bizdealski better than Bryzcheapski.
Can I use it?
All the Bryzcheapski crotchsniffers will probably quit getting pissed when I use Bryzcheapski.
