Re: Should we have gone with edge or taylor?

I was very happy with the Taylor pick-up when I first heard about it. Having Jamal Lewis on my fantasy team last year caused me to pay close attention to the Raven's RB situation, and last year, Taylor was the better back. Due to extenuating circumstances, he didn't get the playing time needed to truely show off, but I was impressed by what I saw. I think he is a future star in this league, and will be a great feature back for us.

Of course, coming into this offseason, I wanted Edge, because he was the big name, but I think Taylor was a smart pick up.

As far as comparing the two, I can't do that quite yet. I don't know how the other Viking RBs are going to factor into the mix, and I don't know what kind of O-line AZ has. Both are huge factors in determining who will have the better year. I'm leaning towards Edge.

However, the more I think about it, I think I'm happier with Taylor. Signing him for less money enabled the Vikings to go after Hutch, and design that offer that Seattle hopefully won't be able to match. I'm also hoping that the Vikings aren't done looking at linemen. In Childress' welcome speech, he mentioned that he believes great team start with the lines, and I think we're just starting to see the effects of that belief. It's a belief that I agree with, and it makes me excited to see where this team is going.

I think mr.woo is right."Chester is hungry" and will have to eat some linebackers to keep himself alive and off the sideline...Chester is starving for taco flavored safeties. Edge has a full belly. Eat Chester Eat.

Since we are running a WCO picking up James would have been a waste of cash. RB is the least of our worries in a WCO.

That is why I am sure we didn't get him. If Childress wanted a run oriented team I imagine we would have at least met with EDGE.

Taylor is more bang for the buck. With the Vikings shoring up the front line, he will be a good fit into the scheme of things.

The topic is a moot point. It's a done deal.
