LOL, Not sure why. I am off on several of my picks already....

    Anyway, a couple of thougths....

    a. Okung/Williams. Was listening (Intently of course) to Charley Casserly last night on NFLN. He seems to feel that Williams is a better fit than Okung with the Skins. I sure wish I followed college ball so that I could disagree with him.

Anyway, his rationale is that in the Shannahan ZB'ng scheme Williams athletiscism would be a better fit that Okung. My guess, he is probably right. Smart dude ole Charlie.

    b. Cleveland. I sure wish I could get a feel on what ole Puker boy Holmgren is thinking. Charley believes that they will go defense and pass on Clausen as you have done.

    c. Dez at 14 huh. Feelings I got from Gil Brandt (Weekend Sirius Show) is that he is being treated like a hot potatoe. I had him slipping all the way to the Jets at 29 because of that with Seattle taking Spiller with the 14th.

I know they will be looking for playmakers up there, however, I think they will look to fix the guy coming out of the backfield before they address thier WR issues, mostly because the norm is to help a young QB with a strong running game instead of trying to make him pass alot to move the offense.

Mix in the last little piece, altough the lost Nate, they did resign Obamanu, and brought in Martin, Morey, and Williams as some other options.

    d. Clausen. The more respected cats, Casserly, Kirwan, Mayock etc, seem to think like you. If Cleveland and the Bills don't like him, he will get to us at 30. I'm not so sure I wouldn't put the Steelers at 18 into that mix as well.

I'm almost of a mind that Spielman might try to move up for him. We have an extra pick this year, not alot of holes to fill, and he hasn't really put his stamp on the QB position yet even though he has tried with Booty and Sage.

If I did trades in my mocks, I would have the Vikes moving up to a place between 13 and 18 if he gets past the Bills at 9.

Other than that, a excellent draft.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

    Re:SharperImage's Final Mock!! Input needed!

I doubt that the Jaguars will go with Haden. They still have a pressing need at DE (even more now they traded Groves away) and have Cox and Mathis penciled in as starters right now. I think that they could wait and find a CB to develop and play nickel later on, while they get Derrick Morgan to rush the passer.

I really, really like your pick for the Pack. I'd love for them to select Hughes. I'm pretty much in love with his play.

Matthews is not that amazing a pass rusher. He has a high motor and has some nice speed moves, but his repetoire is very limited and he too often is held out of a play after he engages with the LT from what I've seen.

I want someone on the other side who, might not be as good in coverage, but can get to the passer. Graham and Hughes fit that bill.

I actually think that Hughes will be great for a 3-4. He actually has the athleticism, speed, range etc. to become pretty decent in pass coverage. The big knock on him is that he's average against the run. I can life with that. The Colts didn't get to the SB on Matthis' and Freeney's great run stuffing. We have safeties that can tackle, a great duo of ILBs who can stop the run, a DE/NT/DE group that gets to the runner and cuts off the lane in a hurry. As long as Hughes can maintain his gap just a little, we should be fine.
