Re: SAY WHAT? Birk on Hutch's contract
I have a Matt Birk jersey, therefore I, much like Matt, rule.

Re: SAY WHAT? Birk on Hutch's contract
It's nice to see a pro athlete speak his mind about something like this (opposed to other situations and you know what I mean). He is just saying what the general public says every day! I'm proud to be a fellow Minnesotan of his!

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

Re: SAY WHAT? Birk on Hutch's contract
This is kind of CHARACTER I wish all of our players could have. Matt Birk is a player for ALL OTHER players to emulate.

Re: SAY WHAT? Birk on Hutch's contract
Birk is awesome, I hope he can play for many years to come. When hes done playing I hope we keep him as some kind of coach. This guy is a first rate class act. If anyone is looking for a new jersy next year I think it should be an easy decision..."B-I-R-K"!!!

Re: SAY WHAT? Birk on Hutch's contract
I hope that Birk can get back to his pre-injury level of playing! I think he is a tell it like it is kind of guy, and he was the general of the O-line. He is the player that calls the blocking assignments when they are lined up, and a huge part of our O-line problems last year was because Withrow was not capable of doing that, and Fowler was not in the system long enough.
If Birk can return to the player he was 2 years ago before the sports hernias and the hip muscle problems our line with Hutch and him will instantly be 1,000% better. If he can not go at that level anymore or he develops more injuries, than I have a feeling this will be the last year with Birk on the Vikings as a player. If that is the case he could come back as a coach, he was last year anyways.
I am just hoping that he is solid player this year and has no health issues! It may take he a few games to get the rust off and be back to the old Birk, at least that is what I am hoping for! What we've got here is failure to communicate.
