Re: Sansevere: 5 things to watch in the Vikings' draft
we'll need an instant starter at LT.
The first few games are tough ones, with the likes of Freeney, KGB/Kampman, Peppers and Kearse.
We'll need a guy who won't get blown over every play.
I am not confident that CJohnson can be that guy.
I would love to take Sam Baker in the 2nd, which is what i'm sure Ricky is thinking if he can get Allen for a 1st and 3rd this year.
If we get Allen, the only hole we have is LT.
It would make sense to use your highest remaining pick on a LT IF he's there.

Truth be told, when compared to Joe Thomas (2 magazines) the experts say that the guys in this class are good but none are of his caliber with the exception of maybe Long.
Again, I believe that because he has been in the systems for a year and has had the benifits of the NFL coaches for a year Chase should have the inside track to get the start.
If he isn't ready by now then we need to start firing some OL coaches (which I said last year after almost every game by the way
;D).
As I said, Chase will get the nod for McKinnie this year unless the find a nugget in the later rounds that is NFL ready which I highly doubt. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Sansevere: 5 things to watch in the Vikings' draft
by highest pick, i meant our 2nd (assuming we trade for Allen)
with our 2nd there are a few linemen i wouldn't
mind having.
I particularly wouldn't mind getting Sam Baker.
I know he's no Long, but he could very well be a great young Tackle for our team.
He could fill in for BMac, and at the very least he could start a fire under Cooks Ass.

LOL, I hear ya my friend but as I've highlighted with TJ, do you really think that Cook is out there giving just bare minimum and needs to be motiviated?by highest pick, i meant our 2nd (assuming we trade for Allen)

I believe just the opposite.
For that kid to come in and start at RT after a career as a C was simply amazing.
I will be watching with interest this year but I believe he won't need help from the TE as much this year resulting in more production from our TE's.
Long story short, I don't think a cat like that needs any motivation.
Now McKinnie on the other hand, he has flattened out.
He isn't gonna get any better no matter how many fires you light under his ass. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Sansevere: 5 things to watch in the Vikings' draft
but he could still push cook to get better.
I could see him filling in for BMac during his suspension, and if he does decent, he very well might stay, and Mac goes on the trading block.

Re: Sansevere: 5 things to watch in the Vikings' draft
I can't wait for all the Bmac naysayers to be thankful that Bmac is back after the first four games of the year. He is overpaid, but he is a solid NFL LT. There aren't many of those.

As usual Sanse-Putz really put a lot of work into his article and I'm not stunned he used a sarcastic slight to try and stick it to MY Vikings! >5. As usual, they will take the best player on the board and they will be stunned he was available.
Jerk wad!!

I don't doubt his talent, I just can't understand why he had such a bad year last year with respect to the smaller faster DE's.I can't wait for all the Bmac naysayers to be thankful that Bmac is back after the first four games of the year. We need to get that fixed or else teams will keep lining them up against him forcing us to keep a TE in to help which also has a trickle down effect of taking a WR off the field which then leads to less players deep/stacking the box.
As I said repeatedly last year, there was something going on that caused him to lose focus/play out of character at times.
I hope for Big Macs sake he gets that and his off field stuff straightened out or he will be gone. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
