Re: Roy Williams on Trading Block?

Why would we want a WR or any player for that matter that is damaged goods? I never understood this.

A different view.. didn't you draft AP whom was nicked up in college often at a bargain spot in the draft?
Knee injuries aren't the career threat they once were, IMO, however his attitude is a risk to me more so than the knee.

He is a legitimate #1 WR.. problem for the Lions they have 2. Millen will probably draft another one this year.

btw ajoyce go grab a free beer and tell us your story.
One should never underestimate the level of Millens stupidity. I'll bet the lions pick this year will be "the best player on the board." Who also happens to be a reciever.

I don't believe Millen is very smart.
    He might do it.

Roy Williams has been hurt every year though. Why would we want that?

    04 - Sprained Ankle.. Missed 2
    05 - Quad bruise . Missed 3
    06 - Played all 16
    07 - Knee

While I agree that you could label him a injury risk, I really don't know that a sprained ankle and bruised quad would make me label him as such. If that is the case... alot of recievers in this league are injury prone.

Not arguing that he is the right fight in MN, but he would give you a big body that can play both the short passing game while still stretching the field at any time. If the rumor of a 2nd is true.. my opinion, he is well worth a second. Remember.. he started complaining before he was hurt and after about the coaching staff and team. They will move him because of that..

If they did trade him to us for a 2nd, I would wonder how bad that knee is...whether they know something we don't.
He definitely has the talent to be a No.1 in this league.

Obviously we would have our doctors look at him before trading away a pick.
I say send them Troy Williamson and a 3rd.
I would even send Troy Williamson and a 2nd.
Roy Williams (when healthy) is dominant.
A true #1 on most NFL teams.
Plus we take a major weapon from a division rival.

some people called randy moss damaged goods in oakland after he had been injured here, and what did he end up going to new england to do?

roy williams is an elite superstar receiver when hes healthy, and to only give up a 2nd round pick, where you clearly couldnt draft anybody that would be as good as him (especially not in this years draft) is a very small price to pay

unfortunately i cant see the lions being that stupid
