    Roy Williams on Trading Block?

I just read on Fox.com that Roy Williams (WR from Detroit) is on the trade block and that Detroit are asking for a 2nd rounder.
What do you guys think of this?
Could he be an option for us?
And would Detroit trade him to a division rival?
I think we easily give a 2nd rounder for him.

If that is true, yes they should get him. But I really really doubt that it is true. He would demand alot of money too.

As long as no one ever challenges his status as the #1 reciever it would be a good pick up for a 2nd. a steal... proof that Millen isn't getting smarter in the position of GM.

By far the GM that is the furthest over his head, simply clueless.

Other news includes the rumor that Lions wide receiver Roy Williams is on the trading block, and one report said Detroit would look for a second-round pick in return. Williams played for two seasons under former Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz, who's now with the 49ers, so would the 49ers look to make a deal for Williams?
I still dunno if this stuff is true, but who knows, i think id give a 2nd round for him.

Who knows how bad his knee is? He didn't play virtually at all after the 5th game of the season. Blogs say "he MIGHT" be ready for training camp 2008."
Anyway, he loves Martz and Martz is in SF now so if he goes anywhere he would join the pass happy offense out there.

Re: Roy Williams on Trading Block?

First just for a disclaimer for the rest of my post. In my opinion Roy Williams is a top 3 receiver in the NFL. An amazing receiver with great talent. It would give jackson no more excuses. He is young. I would love for him to come here for a 2nd or maybe even more. But...

He wouldn't come here. Many reasons why.

    1. Would a division rival trade him to us. Such a great weapon used against them twice a year.

    2. Look who he has throwing him the ball.It will be like Moss coming to Oakland all over again except instead of Aaron Brooks making Randy Moss look like crap it will be Tarvaris Jackson making Roy Williams look like crap.

    3. He would cost a lot of money plus a high draft pick.

    4. We are a run heavy team. Roy Williams complained about not getting the ball enough in the Mike Martz system. How do you think he'll like it when he's in our offense where he might get the ball twice or three times a game in a run heavy offense.

It won't happen, but I'd do that for a 2nd rounder in a heartbeat.

I don't think Millen is dumb enough to trade him within the division.
