Yeah this. From my understanding, moore might be the better player, but allen fits better into what we do on defence and can start at nickel right now."Garland" wrote:
He plays WR and is a questionable hitter. IMO he's too soft to play CB in the cover 2, especially ours. Probably why we targeted this Asher fella."gamecocksbaseball31" wrote:
The thing I liked about Moore is his versatility. He has also lined up at WR. I think passing on him will come back to bite us. IMHOSame here, would rather have had DJ Moore but what can you do.
Allen gives us a return threat as well as a solid tackler.
Reminds me a lot of Winfield plus like I said gives us a return man.
Not terrible.
We've all seen how MacCauley, another first round talent we drafted in the third, has adapted to our physical style of play at CB. He hasn't.We're bringing purple back.

With the changes going on in the division we need to get shut down cover corners and abandon that 10-15 yard cushion we have been getting by with or it will be a long decade.

Re: Round 3: Vikings select Asher Allen
I like the Allen pick after seeing some highlights. Reminds me a LOT about Winfield. Fits our MO of stopping the run, and has good fpptball instincts. DJ Moore is falling on everyone's boards, so while suprised we didn't pick him, I am kind of relieved too.
I was also a little suprised we didn't go TE considering there is a lot of talent there and we don't have a 4th round pick.
Halo 4. Start another fight.

Those WHOOPS on NFLN didn't say one word about the Vikings pick, not even a mention of who they picked.
They couldn't shut their mouths talking about the Dolphins pick.
I for one like to listen to what they have to say about the picks & see some clips, but they skipped right over the Vikings pick.
Pisses me off to no end.
Is it just me or does it always seem they go to commercials when the Vikings pick on day 2?
They talked about Allen and now are still talking about the Vikes and Percy Harvin.
Had an interview with Childress (don't know how much that is worth) but nonetheless they are still talking about the Vikes!
I have a dual DVR on my DISH Network. I'm leaving one on NFLN & putting the other on ESPN.
Fuck Eisen & his Sprint phone.

Re: Round 3: Vikings select Asher Allen
Seems like a tough corner who can tackle. I don't mind the pick. Speed is nice but it is not really neccessary in our defensive scheme. The ability to tackle and cover your zone is more important.
Because I'm a Vikings fan, they are that much sexier.

They just skipped it and talked about the trade.
I don't know if they ever aired the Vikings state of the franchise. I didn't see it.
Screw them. I shut them off.
Allen has a very slow 40 time for a corner. He's also short at 5' 10".
A third round pick should be a quality player. And though I see a need for a good nickel corner on this team.
I wonder what they see in him?“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

floop Eisen & his Sprint phone.
He spent 5 minutes talking about his phone instead of our draft pick.
Rediculous.
