Robert Meachem, WR looking at Vikings
Check out http://www.nflplayers.com/news/draftDiary.aspx?id=6492Robert Meachem is a redshirt junior wide receiver at the University of Tennessee. This past season, he set the Tennessee season record for receiving yards with 1,298. A 2006 third-team All-American by the Associated Press, he had 88 career receptions with 60 converting first downs and over 2,000 career yards for the Vols.
A great trade-down receiver

Re: Robert Meachem, WR looking at Vikings
I have been saying it for a while, trading down drafting Meachem would be great. We could probably trade down past 15 and still be able to get him and probably land a 2nd round pick as well.

Re: Robert Meachem, WR looking at Vikings
There are a number of good receivers but one thing I like about Meachem is his yards per catch. Also his basketball back ground speaks to hand eye coordination.
I would like to see him in purple and I'm glad the Vikings have shown interest.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

I am pretty high on Meachem too.
I would love to trade down and pick him up.Zeus wrote:

Re: Robert Meachem, WR looking at Vikings
I don't know much about Meachem personally, but from what the "experts" say he wouldn't be a bad grab. But then teams look at everyone in the draft.....look at Williamson, I don't think they ever made a public visit to him. The draft is all about surprises. You can never be sure of anything in NFL

Re: Robert Meachem, WR looking at Vikings
Trading down makes would make me nervous.
What if we traded down and sombody else took who we wanted when we traded down.
I don't know if we would find out because they would probably say that they got the guy they wanted anyway, but that would really suck to trade down and lose out on the player you wanted.
I know it works most of the time, but with MN luck it would most likely not work for us.

Re: Robert Meachem, WR looking at Vikings
Meachem says that he ran a 4.2 in arizona in the espn article
After spending time at Athletes' Performance in Tucson, Ariz., an elite training facility where top prospects prepare for the draft, Meachem had an impressive showing at the combine. He recorded a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash, but that wasn't good enough for him.
"I was mad because I wanted to run a 4.2," he said. "I did it in Arizona and I felt like I could've done it in Indy."
