Re: Resigning Birk

I would like to bring Birk back.
He can still play, is a real veteran voice in the locker room, and is a true Viking lifer.
Get it done.

Birk says he wants to stay; team, agent meet

"I'd love to have him back," coach Brad Childress said while attending the NFL Scouting Combine.

I tried to tell Marrdro but again he would not listen to me. Just because there was no negotiations during the year does not mean he would be gone. There is a time for football and a time for business. We are stacked at Center. IMO Birk is the starter until proven that he is not.

Nothing indicates that we have anyone that will do better than Birk. As the Center is the most important person on the line, i'd rather have Birk who has been a probowler for years and who's play is somewhat declining than a rookie or a young boy who has no experience at all.

Eric Wood. Looks kind of like Birk. Just watching the combine right now and I like him. He might be around in the 2nd round...

I thought the same thing, except was hoping 3rd round. Looks like a beast of a run blocker.

I don't know if you saw, but when he false started his 40 run, the way he responded to the coach was fantastic. "yes sir" type thing. I liked that.

LOL!

Marr would love to see QB competition on the roster next year, yet he was in full support of handing over the Center position, a position he avers is highly important to the team & handing those duties over to a second year man who has yet to snap a single ball in a regular season game.

is it just me? the article said nothing about Birk. Only had a picture of him.
Hmm, it was on Birk earlier, but I just clicked on the link a 2nd time and it was on AD.
unfortunately "source=rss" means that it will continue to be a different story.
