PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Eagles' season is over, but they could still endure two more losses before the month is over.

According to a report on FoxSports.com, the Minnesota Vikings plan to ask the Eagles for permission to interview vice president of player personnel Tom Heckert this morning.

The Vikings are looking for a general manager to take charge of their personnel decisions, including the hiring of a new head coach. Mike Tice was fired as the team's head coach after the Vikings' win over the Chicago Bears yesterday.

If Heckert were to get the Vikings' job, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that he'd be interested in hiring Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress to replace Tice.

An Eagles source said he thought the report about Heckert was credible, but the team had not yet heard from the Vikings.

Childress, who has worked as the Eagles' offensive coordinator since the 2002 season, did not want to talk about his own future.

"It's hard for me to focus on that right now," Childress said. "I'm going to leave that one alone."

I think that would be a very good choice. With the exception of TO, that guy has had a great deal of success with players. Not to mention the fact that he is very good at managing the cap.

They have done a pretty good job with personnel in Philly the past few years. I wouldn't put the TO decision on him, I think it was Reid's call to bring him in.

Looks like the Eagles gave him the GM title when they heard we were interested. dang, i was hoping we would get him.

This is actually a big blow to our plans this off-season. He was #1 on our wish list and would have been an awesome hiring. Now we are gonna have to probably look at Savage from Cleveland, who I don't like anywhere near as much as Heckert.

This is actually a big blow to our plans this off-season. He was #1 on our wish list and would have been an awesome hiring. Now we are gonna have to probably look at Savage from Cleveland, who I don't like anywhere near as much as Heckert.

Savage would mean increase the possibility of us getting Ferentz and that would be great. I dont want him to leave Iowa, but he will eventually so why not come to the vikes.
