Report: Dunbar attends LSU Pro Day
More indept reporting......Reading VU.according to Vikingupdate.com.
:
http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=2637Among the prospects who went through the paces were defensive end Tyson Jackson; wide receiver Demetrius Byrd; guard Herman Johnson; linebacker Darry Beckwith; defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois; safety Curtis Taylor; fullback Quinn Johnson; defensive end Kirston Pittman; and center Brett Helms.
I wonder which player(s) the scouts prepped him to go see.
Must have been Herm..... ;D
Tyson Jackson

Jackson is a beast, but I can't see us going for a DE...though he'd be going around when we pick.
Jean-Francois is also damn good - stats hampered by eligibility problems, but he was a HUGE reason the Tigers won the championship last year.
Not as sure on Pittman though... he didn't see as much time while I was down there.

Even though I think DT will be a primary target for this staff this year, I wouldn't think they would take Jackson at 22."Marrdro" wrote:

Maybe Peria Jerry if he slips, but wouldn't you think Jackson would be a reach at 22?
See him as more of a late 20's guy. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Hi guys, love the forum, thanks for letting join in on the fun.
You guys should not discount Michael Johnson from GA tech.
6'7" 266lbs.
4.66 40 time
2.68 20 time
Here is his 2008 Highlight video.

Coming into the season, this guy was ranked as a top 10 pick. But he never lived up to his potential. So his stock supposedly dropped. But from his pro-day scouting report. He might be the first DE taken. He probably won't get pass Green Bay. So look for name Michael Johnson.

Re: Report: Dunbar attends LSU Pro Day
I'd like to think we've got our whole staff spread out all over the country attending every big school's proday!
You never know who might drop to you in a later round, or who might jump out at you.
So, no DTs?
Don't see us going DE.
Hopefully, he's studying the might Quinn.
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Byrd is a talented receiver with a great upside. He has good quickness off the line, fights off jams and has the speed to get vertical. He’s a reliable receiver who makes tough receptions at key moments and demonstrates excellent body control adjusting to errant passes. He’s a physical route runner, who snatches passes out of the air with his hands; he doesn’t allow many balls to get in on him. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
