The guy is here another year like it or not.
Support him and see what happens.
If they do not improve this year your wish will come true and he'll be gone.
Some people also tend to forget that 1 time out + 1 lost challenge = 2 lost timeouts in one play.

I don't know how any HC can make that type of blunder.
Not sure who you are referring to about who forgets that.
I don't forget that and I wasn't happoy about it.
However, my point is there are 2 sides of the coin and he has made very good decisions as well in which the Chily haters absolutely do not think about or give him credit for.
The only thing we know for sure is that Chilly challenges the plays. He is the one that has the red flag in his pocket. He has done both good & bad in that department.

When it comes to play calling, who really is to blame or give credit to? Is it Childress or Bevell? Anyone whose admant about blaming one or the other is doing so blindly, IMO.

Bottom line is we do not really know which one is sending in the plays or what the split is.

Same is true for the draft. I see people giving credit for our picks solely to Childress. Who really is making those final decisions? Is it Childress, Spielman, our scouting
team (Studwell), Wilf or a consensus of all of them?

Great post Singer and I agree whole-heartedly.
This is what I have been saying all along and why it pisses me off so much that people will blame Childress without knowing the whole or real story.
The problem is we do not know but whatever goes wrong gives the Chilly haters something to blame him for.
The challenges are his final decision although he is coached by the people in the booth.

Are they both 100% full up round NFL ready?
I don't think so, but both will add value to the team in whatever capacity they bring.
For that, they at least deserve a opening grade befitting the effort they are gonna put out this year as they join the ranks of a Vikings Football Player.

By the way, I have never seen a more negative group in my life.
Our team improved today and all I hear is hate and discontent.
    All so very said.

Marrdro, you are spot on. This draft has improved us where we needed help. And can someone tell me who is a better playmaker than Harvin? He will be a great addition. And Loadholt should at the very least add much needed depth (though I think he will start).
I simply don't see how you can be anything but excited about this draft.
Thanks for your kind words my friend.

Anyone who has this much excitement for the team automatically gets bumped 2 columns on the ole spread sheet.

LOL, "All" might have been a strong word, however, did you go back and re-read some of the threads?

I am actually pissed about the Vikings day one of the draft.. pissed I tell you. Right along with the Lions day one.. utter BS.

However I did like Chicago's day one.. very much.

Seriously, needs and value is what you got on Day one. There are questions on just about every prospect coming in.. most on the field, some off the field.. either way all have risk of some sort.

I'm excited for the season and to see how they end up using Percy Harvin.. On the other hand, I am taking a cautiously optimisitc approach to my overall expectations for the season...

Given imo, the NFC North had the best overall draft of any division in teh NFL, I think we could be looking at the most improved division and competitive division in the league.. outside of the NFC East of course...

Additionally, the Lions are no gimme either... even though i think they should have done more to address that awful defense... but we'll see..

I don't know, haven't had time to sit down and go over the draft pick by pick (missed most of Sunday) but from what I've read, I really believe that all the NFC North teams got better in this draft.

The other Div's might get a bit of a "Black and Blue" ass whoopin this year.
Course, we still have the best team.

if we can ever figure out that pesky and elusive QB situation.. we'd be superbowl contenders for sure...

Or what the play is, what defense was called to counter, what line adjustments were made, what assignments were missed or made, etc. etc. etc.
We know only the formation and the result.
If it's a good result (99-yard TD to Bernard Berrien against the Bears) then it was a great play-call, to the fans.
If it's a lousy result (5-yard loss on a toss to Tahi) then it was a lousy play-call, to the fans.

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!
