Re: Ranking Purple Positional Needs
I actually think they've got that right on the ball.
A DE would do wonders for our D and should absolutly be addressed before anything.
Jackson was showing that he was taking steps in the right direction at the end of this year, and could very well be ready for a good season (2500-3000 yds, 15 tds)

I guess it must be pretty obvious.

Re: Ranking Purple Positional Needs
Call me stupid but I think the right offensive tackle is the weakest of the weak spots. And, it's probably one of the easiest to fill through FA or the draft. The reason I say this is because it can give an inexperienced passer (like TJ) more time to look over the field and pick up his receivers. That alone would be a huge help.
Second I would go for the WR
Then Safety
A defensive end.
Lastly a QB -- Either a top flight starter like McNabb or a very nice backup. I think this will be the hardest of the bunch to fill.Kentucky Vikes Fan

When you require nothing, you get nothing; when you expect nothing, you will find nothing; when you embrace nothing, all you will have is nothing.

WR is our number 1 need.
Safety is 2nd
Defensive end 3rd
QB - - We only need a GOOD veteran back up.
Like Chad from the jets.
Tarvaris should start.
TE- No one else said anything about this but Shiancoe(sp) kind of sucks.
Get us a athlete like Gates or Davis.
For RT I think that Cook is getting better.
He will be ready next year.

Re: Ranking Purple Positional Needs
Some very accurate evaluations.. a quick take from this side..
1. RT.. i know cook is doing better, but.. Birk isn't getting younger.. ins't getting faster.. and Cook should be in his position in 2 years max.
meaning .. we need some1 now so that next year we are SOLID at the line.
2. Saftey.. yeahh we are getting up there in years here as well.. and we neeed to start grooming some1 to replace Sharper.
3. TE
we NNNNNEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDD
a stud to come in at TE.. wether he starts in 2 years. or this year.. we need some1 who can come in and replace shaindropo and the flyinsaucer..
we have a decent blocking backup, but we're gonna need one that can shift from blocking to receiving.. and possible FB dueties..
4. this is a tuffie.. i think we can do decent in the DE/WR this year in the FA.. and grab a future spot holder in the Draft.. but this would then come to best player available.. between these 2 spots. with the 5th pick taking the other spot.
5. see # 4

Re: Ranking Purple Positional Needs
I'd have to rate our needs as follows:
1.
DE, like he said, our scheme requires a good pass rush.
2.
S, If our DE's don't pan out, we need a safety w/ good range to recover in the defensive backfield.
3.
WR, At least one to come in and work outside so Wade can stay in the slot.
4.
QB, Veteran to compete w/ TJack and maybe start if TJack can't perform.
5.
OL, T, C, and G for depth and competition.
Rock out with your cock out!!!
