    Raiders Looking to Trade Out of the 4th Pick?

    http://myespn.go.com/blogs/hashmarks...draft--QB.html

    Trade down? The Raiders don't have any second-, third- or fifth-round picks so Kiffin made it clear the team, which is still very much in the rebuilding phase, will look at the possibility of trading out of the No. 4 pick.
    Teams such as Carolina, at No. 13, or Chicago, at No. 14, or Dallas, which has the No. 22 and No. 28 picks, could be attracted by Oakland's top pick.

    "[trading down] is something we're looking at," Kiffin said
    What do you guys think of trading up to their spot if Chris Long or Vernon Gholston are still on board?
    I would like to see it happen, either would make a huge impact on the D-line.

    I don't think we'll make this trade, but I wouldn't mind it to get Vernon Gholston.

    I think we're a pretty solid team as it is... I don't think Chillers will rock the boat by making this trade.

    What is your opinion? What would you be willing to give up?
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

    2008 1st and 3rd rd picks
    2009 1st(is chris long is there, he is that good) or a 2nd(for gholston)

    I would never trade away a future #1 pick.
    But I could live with this years first and second for their first.

    Do you really want my opinion on that or the pick swaps?

    Anyway, here is what we would have to give up to get to the 4th pick.

    4th round = 1,800

    17th = 950
    48th = 420
    74th = 220
    83rd = 175
    Total = 1865.

    If we did it, we wouldn't pick again until the 4th round.

    Antiquated draft chart Marrdro.
    The top five picks have been seriously devalued because of the amount of money they will command.
    This is a hot enough topic that it has made its way around the owners meetings.
    But all of the draft value charts we find online still use the same values from fifteen years ago.

    I think a first and second would more than cover it.

    FYI: I heard the PFT was trying to put together a modern draft value chart based that addresses rookie contracts.
    I am going to look and see if they ever finished it...

    I have read some of those articles on that very same subject, especially centered around how much it costs to sign them cats and how no one wants to be up there anymore.

    To date I haven't seen anything solid on that and still believe the value charts are correct until someone shows me a new one everyone agree's on.
    ;D

    Quick comment though, most of the top teams don't believe the guys in the top 5 or so are worth the pick so why the hell do we think our front office would think different and want to move up there?
    ;D
