Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post reports that a team executive told him the Raiders and Vikings are discussing Rosenfels' availability. This would be interesting on many levels.
Do the Vikings know more about Favre's intentions? Are the Vikes looking at a QB in the first couple of days in the draft? Is a Jackson contract for a longer term than his tender close to being signed? And how fat is Russell, 271 or closer to 290?
Re:Raiders Interested in Rosenfels?
That is very interesting. I would be all for it if the Vikings could get a 3rd round pick for him.
... or Nnamdi Asomugha. Now that will solve a lot of problems for us.

More Proof Brett Favre is Coming Back: Vikings and Raiders are Talking Sage Rosenfels Trade
I wouldn't call it proof but I could see this happening

The quarterback picture would certainly clarify immensely if Rosenfels were to be shipped out. My guess is, T-Jack would be signed to a multi-year contract soon after Sage’s exit, the Vikings would go QB in the first or second round of the draft, and then, early in preseason, Brett would make it official.

Would you rather be the back up to the back up of an old man, or work for an old man?

I wonder what the Vikes could get for him. It wouldn't be a bad thing. Maybe it is a 3 way deal to send McNabb to the Vikes. Who know's? I do know being a 3rd string throughout the year doesn't help his trade value much. There has to be more to it. I don't see the Vikings getting less than what they paid for him (4th rounder) but it would be difficult to get that being he was a 3rd string.

Rosenfels and our 3rd round for Asomugha.
Yeh in my dreams.
Re:Raiders Interested in Rosenfels?
What's the highest draft pick people would be willing to package with sage for asomugha? A first? second? We're already talking about drafting a cb, obviously they would last a lot longer than nnamdi, but could also not pan out. Nnamdi is 28, and I don't know how long cbs usually last in this league. I'd still love to have him though.

Hey its a possibility. I mean they were willing to trade him to Philly for McNabb straight up. They know they can't afford to keep him around. I'd like to see us trade Rosey and maybe Berrian (probably not though more realistically a draft pick) for Asomugha and possibly a cheaper WR. By sending Rosey, and possibly Berrian we would free up alot of cap space and bring in a top 3 corner.
Re:Raiders Interested in Rosenfels?
As nice as it is to upgrade talent at any time, a CB as great as him in our system is a bit wasteful, especially with his contract.
Right now he's getting paid to take away half of the field in Oakland, we'd be paying him to take away LoS to 15 yards, funnel receivers inside, and make tackles. That's not worth $15 million a year.
If we could restructure that deal, and make it long term, it would be worth it. Hopefully we'll be out of the tampa-2 in the next few years, then we could use an amazing cornerback effectively.
Re:Raiders Interested in Rosenfels?
A 3rd for Sage? We should take that in a second. Sage is the worst. He will fit right in on the raiders.
