    Quinn Gray

Going into the free agency period, I thought that Quinn Gray would be one of the more sought after quarterbacks, but he remains unsigned. Last year he played surprisingly well, and throughout his career he has been fairly solid. I think Gray would be a very good backup for Jackson.

And while his stats aren't going to blow anyone away, they are very solid, and I think he is by far the best quarterback on the market. If Jackson is injured next year, he would perform better than any rookie would be able to, simply because he is more experienced and has already been successful in the NFL. He is also much better than Brooks Bollinger (who is the only other QB currently on the roster). In their careers, Quinn has more touchdowns [12 to 8], less interceptions [5 to 8] and a higher passer rating [88.5 to 75.2] than Bollinger.

What I would most like to see is the Vikings bring in someone like Gray who can back up Jackson, and then draft a quarterback in the third or fourth round who can compete for the third spot (and would probably beat out Bollinger). That way we have a young guy back there learning, who could eventually become a solid backup, or even step in as the starter next year if Jackson doesn't work out this year. Either way, I think Quinn Gray would be a solid addition to the Vikings roster.

I think it is clear that Childress is married to BB and TJack, which is why I think we are not going after any FA right now.
With that being said, the FO is not stupid so they know we need an upgrade/backup plan at QB.
I believe the FO has plans for draft day to either trade for a QB or draft one high.
That is why we are not going after Gray.

I remember at the beginning of last year of how the coaching staff thought there was no way BB could be a back up so we had to trade for Holcomb

I never said that BB was the long term solution at backup.
I said I think we will trade for a QB or draft one high.
This would be ideal IMO because if TJack does end up being a bust, which is a probability whether we like it or not, we would have somebody next year who has a year in the system to be his replacement.

I don't think the Chiller is married to any player.

Like it or not BB is currently on the roster cause they don't have anything better (yet).
Quick question, if the Chiller is so enamoured with BB why did they try to trade for Sage?

    Back to the topic........

I believe the Jags run a variant of the WCO and he probably could fill in if necessary.
I for one would rather see us work a deal (3rd rounder) for Sage.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
