Potential starters make for some exciting competition
Potential starters make for some exciting competition as Vikings training camp nears

With the addition and subtraction of several players this offseason, the starting lineup of the Minnesota Vikings for the 2009 season is sure to look a little different. On both offense and defense, some new faces (rather, new numbers) will be visible on the field. Let's take a look at the potential impact of them as we wind down toward training camp....

Re: Potential starters make for some exciting competition
Competition at camp only improve's the team, it demands 100% effort, and make's for some tuff decisions on the final roster. Harvin, and Loadholt are probably going to be starters, add in a vet QB, the return of EJ, and it looks like a championship team in the making. Every year I get fired up for TC, and this year has a bigger buzz than usual, and I am as opptimistic as ever.....These purple shade's are pretty far out man.

That is one tall offensive line.
We'll need to start targeting 6'8" QB's just to see over them.
We appear to have upped our plowing ability and should be even stronger in the running game.

Whoa.
Looky what I found.
Somebody else thinks there was more to blame than the QB for our playoff loss:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/11916896Overrated: C Matt Birk. Put on the tape of him playing for the Vikings in the playoffs last January and try to tell me he's not overrated.
Minnesota Vikings
Overrated: QB Brett Favre. Hey, he's coming. And he isn't the answer to this team's troubles.
Underrated: LB Chad Greenway. He made a huge improvement in 2008 and showed why he was a first-round pick. He has a lot of versatility.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

I bet had he not done that, his name wouldn't be mentioned here.

Does that somehow excuse TJ's poor performance?
"He sucked too" is a child making excuses, I doubt TJ did it.

You can't blame that one on TJ, that's nobody's fault but Birks.
That wasn't a poor snap, that was an awful snap.

If I were to break down that game, The three things I would contribute to that in no particular order was:
1. TJ's poor performance
2. OL as a whole's poor performance.
They played a very complex blitzing Philly D that has given many teams fits, not just ours.
It was actually Hutch that got manhandled and pushed into TJ on that interception at the end.
3. Sharper coming out of the game and Tyrell being forced in the lineup.
