I was wondering why they weren't looking at Saunders themselves??????

Maybe this is why.

Saunders would be a guy that would want to sign a contract with someone quickly, he may not have a job if Herm comes in???

Re: Possible Future Coaches List

The Minnesota Vikings' search for a new head coach apparently will include Jim Caldwell.
The St. Paul Pioneer-Press reported today that the Indianapolis Colts' assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach is expected to interview with the Vikings, possibly as soon as Thursday.
Caldwell could not be reached for comment. A Colts' spokesman declined comment on whether the team had given the Vikings permission to approach Caldwell. That is the first step in any team interviewing a coach from another team for a vacancy on its staff. Minnesota fired Mike Tice Sunday.
Caldwell, 50, has been with the Colts since 2002. He served as quarterbacks coach the first three seasons before assuming the added title of assistant head coach prior to this season.
Caldwell took control of the Colts on Dec. 22 when head coach Tony Dungy temporarily left the team following the death of James, his 18-year old son.

After reading the post by finnish,

I still say childress, or saunders.....

But at the bottom I noticed Jimmy Johnson.......If he really did have an interest in coming back to Coaching, I'de take him on in a minute......

Now that would be something to see unfold...

I think if the vikings sign Ron Rivera. We will get Mike Singletary as well.
I actually think Ticey will end up as a college coach.

WTF is K-Fan or anyone else listing Jimmy Johnson? Johnson was asked on national television if he would consider coaching the Vikings and he replied;

NO!
