Re: Pick #7
After what AP showed at his proday, i would not be suprised if he were drafted by the vikes at 7 if available.
He was catching passes out of the slot and lining up everywhere.
He is a great player and a perfect fit for the WCO.

i think he is an improvement over Taylor, dont get me wrong Taylor isnt a bad back, but he doesnt do anything special, just gets the job done"jmcdon00" wrote:
I don't see Peterson as an improvements over Taylor, especially not in his rookie year."ultravikingfan" wrote:
that is what the texans said about bush last year. Peterson would be a huge improvement over taylor. We do not need Peterson.
Yes, he is a good player.
But there is great talent there and we can get a BPA and fill a need.
But it would give us an incredible 1-2 punch, and set up AP as Taylor's successor.
I agree with ultra in that RB is probably the least of our needs this offseason, but if he is the BPA then we take him regardless IMHO.
2great backs would be a very smart decision by the F.O

Re: Pick #7
I say we go all offense the first two rounds and pick up Adrian Peterson and Sidney Rice. Peterson would be a reggie bush type player in our system teaming up with Chester Taylor. IMO he would help Tarvaris A LOT with the passing game by freeing it up.

Also running backs often get injured. That in my opinion is why most of the good teams have running back tandems. I would say that with mewelde frequently injured the vikings are in need of another back."ultravikingfan" wrote:

Whay I mean is the level at which some of these guys are at is so close."ultravikingfan" wrote:

Yes, he is a good player.

So, if they are all tremendous players we should get one that we need.
We do not really need a RB at this point.
My take at that is that some positions you'd - say - rule out somehow.
I don't think it'll be bad to get another RB if he's bpa. Chester Taylor got too many carries last year anyway, and it's good to have more than one quality RB.
But that's just my take. I've said it before, and I think Taylor and Peterson could supplement each other.
Plus any offensive improvement is going to make a bigger difference than a defensive improvement because the need is so much greater.

Re: Pick #7
No to AP!
He hasn't proved durable at the college level = bad investment.
That is just me.
If Calvin Johnson doesn't fall, we should move down for more picks.
We are trying to build and the teams that go young seem to do well with lots of draft picks.
If there is anyone that wants to trade up to take our seven spot, I would aim for this guy later in the first round.
??BPA??

Re: Pick #7
I'd rather not, I mean I'd like to have him but, we don't need him, we could get another draft pick for the #7 spot by trading down and getting a WR, Meachem or Bowe in the late 1st, Quentin Moses or LaMarr Woodley in the 2nd and someone like Paul Williams in the 3rd.
For those who don't know who Paul Williams is, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOyYVnN4bTs

Re: Pick #7
I feel like an idiot for asking this, but what is a BPA?
Edit: NEVERMIND, I figured it out right after I posted it. Best Player Available.
I should think before I speak.

Re: Pick #7
I wouldn't be against picking up Peterson in the draft, but I hope we can get someone that fits our need. I wouldn't mind trading down for Meachem either.

Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

Dwayne Jarrett.
I really like this guy. His time speed isn't great, but he looks so much faster on the field. He runs great routes, 6'5, he can jump, and has the best hands, period. People say Jamarcus Russell would have the strongest arm in the NFL, well Jarrett would have the best hands.
I really think we should trade down and get him. Then take Rice, or Paul Williams in a later round.
