I was hoping we'd go after him when they released him. I'm still pissed that he ruined AP's amazing run. Maybe it wouldn't have been as bad if he had more than 3 great runs this whole year :huh:

Yeah, those 1400 yards and league lead in TDs is totally ruined by the fact he only had "3 great runs." It seems like 7 times out 10 he does something impressive with the ball in his hands. Great runs do not have to be very long.

And Buchanon is a great athlete, and was pretty productive in Tampa, I wouldn't mind seeing us give him a shot.

He did have a good year, but in comparison to his other two years he did seem to lack the exciting runs we witnessed in those times. Most of his TDs this year were goal line or within the 10. He did have great runs, just not as many as before, and the one run that I was referring to was an incredible run, just got ruined by the fumble.

I DEFINITELY would like Buchanon here. He is raw speed and would be a solid nickelback if we indeed are going to part ways with Sapp. He would also be a solid No. 2 if Winny is not up to the task.

He can returns punts as well. I am never against depth at DB positions, it always pays off.

I don't know, when I think of Buchanon I just don't get a warm fuzzy.

He did have a good year. There's no taking away from that. But I wouldn't agree that he does something good 7 out of 10 times with the ball. Unfortunately, he's not that consistent. Personally, I don't care if he rushes for 500 yards and has 4 TDs as long as he is doing what the Vikings are asking him to and they are winning. I just want him to be consistent, learn how to block and hold onto the ball. I think he took a major leap with catching out of the backfield. Still not mastered yet but much improved.

Now getting back to the real topic of the thread, I wouldn't mind Buchanon or Bodden. Both Buchanon and Bodden would be good pick ups imo. What's ironic is we are looking at Lions (or former Lions) to UPGRADE the team.

Not sure why they are looking at Buchanon if Bodden is still in play.

Maybe his asking price is just a bit out of Byrzcheapskis limits.
