Re: One Final Vote: Trade up?
I couldn't believe it!!! I truely thought that more people would want to trade up!!! Finally people realize that if we do trade up, we are going to end up like the packers from last year!!! I know we will have to take a QB in next years draft, but i think with so many good LB available at our 17th spot, we can add on to our defense now and worry about Brad's replacement later!!! HECK, maybe Brad will stay another year!!!

We need to trade for Donnie Edwards with one of our third round pics...then we can draft DeAngelo Williams in the first round, DQwell Jackson with our first pick in the second round, then Croyle, Whitehurst or Jacobs with our second 2nd round pick, then go OT and also pick up a sleeper WR with the remaining 3rd round pick [if we trade for Edwards] (order should depend on who is available and who we think will still be available when our last pick of the day comes up).
DeAngelo is a very talented and high character guy who could very easily earn significant playing time his rookie season (maybe even start), DQwell would learn well from Edwards and eventually step into the starting spot. The QB would sit and learn from Brad for TWO full seasons before being expected to start and the OT and/or WR would also provide depth this season with the potential to start down the line.
Wow Cajun, you really thought this through..
Now with us just grabbing Chester Taylor, do you honestly believe that the Vikes are going after Williams? With Taylor, Moore, Fason, and possibly Smith coming back, that seems pretty crowded to me. We need our QB of the future, and we need LB help. We should address those two positions before looking at another RB.. Just my opinion buddy, don't get all mad at me..
Denver never lets a little thing like having too many RBs stop them from drafting another one...heck they took Clarett even though they had a ton of proven RBs coming back. The thing with DeAngelo is that I don't think that he is a Reggie Bush...I think that he is an Emmitt Smith, a Walter Payton, a Barry Sanders...in short, a RB that will give us a SOLID (not necessarily spectacular) running game for the next 10-12 years. I think that he is the rare breed that will be the foundation for several playoff runs (and a few championship finishes). Just my opinion...based on what I see. That's all. :grin:BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Cool. I respect your opinion on this subject.. I just think that if the Vikes were planning on taking a RB with the #17 pick, that they would have passed on Chester Taylor. I like Williams also, but I do believe that Taylor will excell behind our new line. He was a backup in Baltimore, and doesn't have the mileage on him that most of the other FA RB's have.
If there plan is to draft Williams with the #17 pick, then they should have went after a LB a little bit harder. Either way, I am satisfied with what the Vikings are doing. I just hope that if they are planning to use our first pick on a RB, that they use 1 of the other 4 as trade bait (probably Onterrio Smith). If that were the case, I wouldn't mind them using of of our RB's as trade bait for a proven LB. Good debate buddy..

Re: One Final Vote: Trade up?
I say yes but only if the price is right, which isn't likely. we would have to give too much. I would not be upset if we trade up for Young (I know most of you disagree), but for Cutler I might be.

Re: One Final Vote: Trade up?
I am definitely against trading up and must side with my D.C. brethren on this one and said I would love to see us make a move for Donnie Edwards and then go with D'Qwell in the second round. That would leave us the opening to take DeAngelo in the first round and finally get rid of wondering about Moore and Onterrio. Let Williams run under Taylor for a year or however long and see what happens.
I obviously do not think this will happen ... but I think making a move for Cutler would be a mistake unless we can get up to 9 or 10 for our 17 and the second of the two second rounders ... which I guess is possible ... still and awfully large gamble that often does not pay off.
