Hooray, I can move that much closer. You know, if you call the ticket office, you might still be able to cancel out and still get a refund.
Yea, you should see if you can cancel your season tickets now so a real Vikings fan can buy them.

    From the StarTribune

Several Internet sites reported the Vikings would receive a second-round draft pick in 2007 in return.

I'm just glad this is finally behind us now. Yea we lost a pretty good QB, BUT he's a player that didn't want to be here anymore and a possible cancer to the team if we had kept him. We also got a second round pick for him, which is more than we would have gotten had we cut him this week...which we all know would have been the case. A second round pick is pretty good value in the NFL, a chance to add depth to a team that lacks depth at a few positions.

For better or worse fellow Vikings fans.....let's play with the cards that we've been dealt and see what happens. I'm all in!

Re: ITS OFFICIAL - CULPEPPER TO FINS

The Dolphins decided to stop waiting for Chargers quarterback Drew Brees to lower his contract demands and opted to give the Vikings a second-round choice to acquire quarterback Daunte Culpepper.

Culpepper had been talking to the Dolphins for the past week, expressing his desire to be with the Dolphins along with showing a willingness to rework his contract to fit into the Dolphins salary cap. Contract talks between the Dolphins and Brees have been stalled because the Saints had more money and more guarantees on the table from the Saints.

Vikings coach Brad Childress said recently Culpepper is on schedule in his rehab from surgery in which he tore three knee ligaments after having a trainer fly to Florida to meet with Culpepper. The recovery time from such major surgery is 12 months, but Culpepper has told the Dolphins that he's ahead of schedule and may be able to play before September.

Finding a quarterback this offseason was Nick Saban's main objective. Though he liked Brees, he was unwilling to give him $10 million in guarantees after he is coming off shoulder surgery.

Culpepper's trade clears the stage for the Saints to get Brees.

    WHOOaaa Clayton,

Now we aggressively go after Brees. If we match the Saints offer, I'm sure he would rather come here than that dump of a place and shiaty owner.

    My bad, hadn't seen this:

Saints | Six-year deal reached with Brees
    Tue, 14 Mar 2006 10:45:18 -0800

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the New Orleans Saints have reached a six-year deal with free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers). Financial terms of the deal are not yet available.

Well, since Brees is now a Saint. Take our 2nd rounder from Miami, send it to Atlanta and pick up Matt Schaub. That guys a proven stud from the games I have seen him play in and better than anything we could get in the draft.
