How about this guys: we trade our 4th for David Carr and we trade our first round and second round this year to move up to the #3 slot in the draft and get Calvin Johnson?

I know that would screw our draft day fun by losing a second rounder and a fourth rounder but I think our offense would get a much needed boost. Then in the third round we could draft an O-lineman.
    I would cry.

Of course it would be tears of complete joy.

You know the odds of that happening are so slim, but that sure would be a nice thing to have for our future!

I think we can officially put the David Carr rumors to rest.
No less an idiot than ESPN's John Clayton was on the radio tonite sayign that the Vikings were officially going after Carr.
Now if it was Mort, I;d say it was true and a good lead, but being as how it is Clayton who has missed more than any "expert" I have ever known, I;d say it is a done deal dead dog that Carr will not be a Viking!

Question of the day......How can you be labeled the "professor" of nfl football and be wrong as much as Clayton?

I'm absolutely sure that the D-Carr and C-Johnson will never happen, but its this kind of stuff that makes this time of year so much fun. I know I'm being delusional but, that would be great.

One thing that makes me lean towards no is his contract.
Although I dont know his exact situation, I can only speculate that as a former #1 overall pick QB, his cap numbers are probably quite high.
If they re-structure his contract then I'm all for this trade.
If the Texans trade or release Carr, who is scheduled to make $5.5 million this year and $6 million next year, the salary cap hit would be only $2 million.
