Re: Official 2008 NFL Scouting Combine thread

ATTENTION VIKINGS FANS: Quentin Groves has entered our draft picture.

Today he ran a 4.57. This guy is very quick, I'm not sure if he's running the 20yard cone drill, but in his overview it says he changes direction very well. He's a bit undersized(only 6'3 250, but just as heavy as Derrick Harvey who stands at 6'5), but any DE running under a 4.6 is a force off the edge. I'm curious to see his other stats, I'm sure he'll participate in everything at Auburn's pro-day.

    And, C Mac D, what the hell?^^

What does it mean? Cub scout + Combine/Harvester

As I type this message I figure it out. Scouting Combine.

    That is an impressive time.
I read somewhere that Harvey weighed in at 273, 10-12 pounds heavier than his college playing weight.
If he is still moving that quick at that weight he would definitely be a good pick at 17.
The more i read about Harvey the more i think he is exactly what we need.
I know he isn't much in run defense but i dont think we would be hurt all that much.

Regardless, i am as eager as all of my purple bretheren to see what happens in the next couple months.
I think there will be some good additions to our team.

"Most overrated prospect: Darren McFadden, Arkansas. Think Robert Smith, not Eric Dickerson. That's not a slam."

Several players had great combines that could raise their draft status. However, some players had poor combines that could make them fall dozens of spots...

Thanks for the read my friend.

I usually stay away from a thing I despise this time of year (Homerism for your favorite player from the college team you follow) but I can't help myself this year.

How about my boy, Kendall Langford from Hampton.

You could tell he hasn't spent much time between the college season and the combine working with a guy/staff to teach him all the "Combine Tricks" but he put on a pretty good show none the less yesterday and "Son of Longs" DL group.

Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Re: Official 2008 NFL Scouting Combine thread

For anyone following him, my safety pick Dajuan Morgan ran a 4.52 in the 40 and did 21 bench reps. Kenny Philips ran a 4.55 and did 18 bench reps.. Mayock has Morgan as his #2 safety in the draft.. I would love him in the 2nd. Unfortunately his stock is rising big time so he's not as much of a sleeper as I originally suspected.
