Well wouldn't that be the same scenario here?I'm probably alone on this, but I don't want him. Before this year, he never managed to get more than 2 sacks. Also, this year he only had 21 tackles, that tells me he isn't an every down type of player. The reason he got so many sacks was because the rest of Tennessee's defensive line was so dominant, that Odom was pretty much able to run free on single coverage every down.
I would much rather have a proven veteran like Justin Smith, who has been productive even on one of the worst defenses over the past several years.
I agree Smith would be better, but Odom might be just as successful here.Trying to bring rationale to an irrational site

Re: Odom in FA?
Eight sacks against one guy blocking is better than any of our DE's got.

Re: Odom in FA?
8 sacks in a free agent year? Not my idea of capable. He will end up being a 2nd stringer when, EJ finally is healthy or Robinson gets better. No thanks

Do you have yours set up in the house, car or both?I was listening to Sirius NFL yesterday and Pat Kirwan was saying Odom might get overlooked by some teams as his success last year could be credited more to how well Haynesworth played, but he went on to say if Odom went to the Vikings and got to play next to the Williams wall, Odom wouldn't see a double teams all season and would have a great season.

Re: Odom in FA?
Odom isn't a bad option...especially given our lack of depth with the loss of Udeze and most likely Scott.
I saw one list that had him ranked as the No.2 FA available overall.
And, I think he's got the size to play that end.
Also, sure, Haynesworth is a beast and Odom got help from the rest of that line, but KWill and Pat are pretty darn good too, and I like both Robison's and Edward's potential.
But, at this point, I like the sound of going after Madeiu williams and Justin Smith, who Fraizier has experience with, a bit more.
And, I read somewhere that Odom was hoping to stay in TEN.
It is going to be a crazy FA.
All the top guys are getting tagged, you're it.
If you sign anyone, it will look like overpaying, but that is just the way the game is going.
With the cap going up significantly every year, there is always going to be more and more money thrown around.
Compare Wade's and Shank's salaries from last year, where most thought it was a bit much, to what happens this year and where the average at that position is going, and they suddenly don't look like such big deals.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Gonna spend 4 hours in the truck tomorrow heading out to the hunt club.
Will have the NFL channel on during the whole drive.
