Re: Ocho Cinco in Purple and Gold?

Eh ... Chad Johnson, Randy Moss or Larry Fitzgerald? One of them is DEFINITELY going to be a Vike right! I love the offseason.
I don't think there is much of a chance of us landing one of these studs, but I definitely would not be against getting any of them.
Personally I think I like Fitzy a little better than Chad, but I would not complain either way.

Trading Chad won't be cheap

Team still would be forced to absorb $8M salary cap hit

The Bengals would take an estimated $8 million hit on their salary cap in 2008 if they trade or release Chad Johnson, a move the seven-year veteran wide receiver repeatedly has implied he wants.....

Report: Redskins interested in trade for Chad

"Numerous league sources" tell the Washington Post that the Redskins are interested in trading for Chad Johnson.
Here we go. Two sources say Johnson is "eager" to get a new contract from the Redskins, confirming that Chad's main beef with the Bengals is about money. With a coaching staff almost fully in place, owner Dan Snyder's top priority is known to be acquiring a No. 1 receiver. While the Bengals aren't interested in moving Johnson currently, sources tell the Post that agent Drew Rosenhaus is actively working to broker a deal. It would probably take a pair of early first day draft picks to get Johnson. Feb. 11 - 11:28 pm et

After the dust settles he will sign with the Patriots and they will go to a 7 wr set.

I don't think he is worth a couple of early first day picks.
Maybe a first rounder...maybe.

Probably not worth it, but it would be hard to pass up. Over the last 6 years his fewest yards were 1166. He has only missed 4 games in that time and none over the last 4 seasons. He did just turn 30, but elite athletes can player longer now than they used to so you probably get 5 years out of him. Definetly a long shot.

Keep in mind he has had Carson Palmer throwing to him most of his career.
Would his numbers look the same with TJack throwing to him?

I think two early first day picks is a bit high.
Randy Moss in his prime didn't fetch that much.

Yeah I don't think the vikings will be doing that deal. Moss left after his 7th season with the vikings, same as Johnson. I think somebody will definetly be willing to sell the farm to get Johnson, just not the vikings.

In his strongest statements to date about Chad Johnson, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis this afternoon said that the team will not trade the star wide receiver and has never even discussed it.....
