trading FIVE PICKS?! That's insane! I know he's good, but i think it would be better to stay put and get a QB at 17th or in the 2nd, although ife we moved up a liitle bit for Cutler it wouldnt be horrible, especially if he turns out to be good...

    Re: The Numbers Game

Well the Giants made a hugh trade for Eli Manning and he seems to be turning out very well for them. We do need a QB but we have so many other needs and we have some good picks to get some real good players. I would give all the picks for Reggie Bush but I'm not too sure about the top 3 QB's. I think we may be better off using a 2nd round pick on a QB or the 1st pick if someone falls to us. If we do make a trade I would rather do something like this: 2006 & 2007 #1's and a 2006 2nd round pick. If we get the QB and LB this year and fill a couple other holes we would not need to worry about next season too much.

I don't think Childress would ever give up 5 picks for a number two pick.

It's to high of a risk to put all our eggs in one basket.

I could see him giving up our first & one of our seconds & maybe even one of our thirds to move up, but only if there was a specific player he knew he could get, that would be unavailable at 17.

So then...what would the possibility be of trading our 1st, one of our 2nds, and one of our 3rds in order to move up and get A.J. Hawk, then getting Whitehurst (or Jacobs) with our remaining 2nd, then using the rest of our picks on best available athletes?

Seems to me THAT would be the best-case scenario.....IF possible...?

You're assuming that the Packers either won't take him or will trade us their pick. I doubt that that's going to happen.
