yeah they should... can we trade up for Maclin?.. i doubt it but i would love for him to come here....I think I'm sold on Nicks V4L...but I think either of the two would make an immediate impact.
Seems like Nicks would be the reliable possesion receiver that we need.
On the other hand, Harvin can do a lot of different things and he would help our return game a ton and probably confuse defenses (but there's no way he replaces what Chester brings).
But will either of these guys fall to us?
obviously the staff thinks WR is a priority or they wouldn't have gone after TJ... atleast thats refreshing to know!

I honestly don't know, I don't watch too much college ball, but from what I've seen Nicks seems like a Fitz/Boldin/Housh type receiver which is what we need.

Re: Nicks vs. Harvin
Maclin is not worth trading up for.
This draft is filled with talented WRs and you can stay put and get a gem without having to pay more.
Stay put and just take whoever falls into our lap."There are 3 things that sell in America:

Re: Nicks vs. Harvin
i think harvin is a little bit too much of
a luxury pick. he's a very good returner which we need, but offensively he doesnt bring that much to the table. the reverses and bubble screens are nice but, they are not anything we can't already do. if harvin was somehow still available in the 2nd like desean jackson was last year i'd be all ove rhim but i think some team is going to overdraft him thinking he's the next bush/ginn/hester. if our roster was more complete i wouldn't have problem with a specialist like harvin, but our offense could use a big reliable target like hakeem nicks. it is also very likely that we address defense with the 22nd pick a corner with return ability or another linebacker is possible. O-line also could be addressed. i guess it somewhat depends on the old BPA.

Re: Nicks vs. Harvin
Hakeem Nicks seems like the smarter choice IMO.
We NEED a guy that can go over the middle and pluck the ball in traffic.
We already have a deep threat with Berrian and a solid slot guy with Wade.
He seems to have the best hands at the top of this draft, but he does not have horrible speed either.
If Maclin somehow fell to us, I would hope the Vikings pull the trigger on that pick instead because he brings the best of both worlds.
Nicks will be like the next Housh.Rock out with your cock out!!!

Re: Nicks vs. Harvin
Nicks is the real deal.Different WRs,both good but Nicks is big, fast, strong, he catches everything with just his hands like Fitz.Harvin is good and id be cool with that but Nicks is what we need and IMH will have a better career.Watch his vids on youtube, he is SICK!
