    Quote from CHARLEY WALTERS

    DON'T PRINT THAT

Trading unpredictable left tackle Bryant McKinnie to the Miami Dolphins for high-character pass rusher Jason Taylor would seem to make sense for the Vikings. The problem for Minnesota, though, would be replacing McKinnie. Next month's NFL draft will feature several top offensive linemen, but they're expected to go early, and the Vikings don't pick until No. 17 in the first round.

    NO NO NO.

    He's 100 fucking years old.

Just draft someone, if we can do a little wheeling and dealing we can get another First rounder and pick Williams and Harvey/Merling

yah i read this is a rumor, don't know if anyone is actually considering or talking.
vikingupdate.com in their blog section had a guy post stats of mckinnie compared to other mid teir tackles in reference to sacks given up, holding penalties, false starts, and so on.
his penalties were about average but sacks given up he sucked.

either way, you gotta like it cuz jason taylor can still play, plus mckinnie might end up being a cut after this season if he don't straighten out.
it'd be worth it if we even got one season outta taylor to me.
i'm starting to get the feeling that mckinnie is becoming less and less the long term answer for us at left tackle.
between underachieving and the legal problems they may feel its best to move on.
maybe not this year unless by some miracle someone would want to trade for a player who almost assuredly will get suspended.
how can you say he's underachieving..he was an alternate for the probowl last yr

Like others have said.. my big problem with this is Taylor won't be in the league too much longer most likely.. he still has plenty of game left in him though, great player

That would give us 4 Williams on the roster again, Had we kept Tank, that would have made 5. 4 on defense, 1 on offense.

I do not really see how this move would improve our team.
We are taking away one starter for another starter which just changes our need from DE to OL.
I would consider getting rid of Fat boy if they do plan on going OL in round one during the draft, but is that player good enough to start?

In our complicated OL system? I doubt it. You'd probably see Hicks there as a starter the first year, unless training camp/preseason proved otherwise.

We'd really need to get an OL via FA or trade who is already familiar with that type of system in order for him to start.

Then we start the whole "gelling" process all over again.
