Wow! That really tells you something about the level of Vikings' quarterback play when Dante Culpepper is in the top 3 of Vikings' all-time best passers. Well... I can't say that I really disagree either. Culpepper was damn good in his prime, but I think the story would have been very different without one of the greatest receiver trios in the history of the sport.

Exactly. For over 50 years now, we've been doing exactly what we're doing now. Signing late-round players or old vets to fill in for a year or two.

Some of the best passing seasons we've had was with guys like Favre, Moon, Cunningham, even a guy like Jeff George had a pretty good season here back with Moss.

Even Kramer is iffy, he wasn't around very long either, and was never really a "great" QB, but he got to a superbowl.

Check out our top 5 RB's that's almost as sad.
    for yardage, it's
    Smith: 6818
    Foreman: 5887
    Peterson: 5782

Drops off after that significantly. Michael Bennett and Chester Taylor are top-10 all time for Vikings.

It seems like everyone is very reluctant of drafting Blaine Gabbert around here. Please, tell me cause I know very little of this guy! What is it the big knock on him? He could fall out of the top ten come draft day so I think we should consider him.

If Gabbert is there at 12 ... I don't care who else is ... he should be the pick.

He is accurate, has a huge arm, reportedly has a great football IQ and has the build. Not much else you could ask for.

He took every snap in the shotgun in the spread offense and simply wasn't that great at it. He is bad at throwing downfield (I read that his completion % on 15+ yard passes was about 30%) and isn't exceptionally accurate. I still can't figure out why he is considered one of the top QB's in the draft.

What SB was Kramer in? Was he running the beer wagon?

This is what I'm talking about! People seem to have so very different opinion of Blaine Gabbert.
Personally, I think he looks great on paper, but I've never seen him play.

We might want to take a look at the Nevada QB, Kaepernick, or Andy Denton Of TCU. One of these guys could be a second round steal allowing us to get a stud OL or something in the first round.

Watch his highlights in the bowl game against Illinois and you'll see what I'm talking about. Half of his passes are bubble screens which really inflates his completion percentage. I'm not sure he's much more accurate than Locker. Also, I'd challenge you to find a spread QB who didn't look good on paper. How many of those panned out in the NFL despite many of them putting much better numbers than Gabbert?
