NFL draft: Who gets picked?
http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/17928994.html
Scouting for the NFL draft is now incredibly sophisticated. The Vikings have 21 player classifications, with a grading system that runs four digits beyond the decimal point. It's as easy as 1.2345.
Back in the day at Winter Park -- well, earlier this decade -- the Vikings divided all 700-plus draft prospects into five color-coded categories.

Re: NFL draft: Who gets picked?
LOL, anyone want to dicker about who is really running the draft at Winter Park this year and who will be making the picks.
;D
Seriously though, a scout magazine that I got a couple of weeks ago layed his draft board/value charting process out.
Damn complex to say the least.
As I've said a bunch lately.
Gonna be fun to watch ole Ricky boy (not the Chiller) work the draft board this year. ;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

He said that they were working the Punters and Kickers on the value board and he wasn't in there.
Wonder why?

Re: NFL draft: Who gets picked?
To stack his final draft board, Spielman relies on a numeric grading system that pushes decimal points into the ten-thousandths -- as in, a player with a grade of 1.2344 is better than a player who grades out at 1.2345.
I hope Rick and the team had a good score on the Wonderlic test! ;DAny man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Mencken

Re: NFL draft: Who gets picked?
I think we had a good draft last year but agian we need to see more of these drafts before we go proclaiming this system a success. It's easy to get 3 solid players with the 7th pick almost every round. I'm more impressed with movement up and down the chart.
