NEW YORK - The NFL draft is moving to another New York City landmark.

The 71st draft will move to Radio City Music Hall, the league announced Wednesday.

The draft will be held on April 29-30. It will be televised nationally by ESPN, and - for the first time - by the NFL Network.

"We are pleased to present the NFL draft at the legendary Radio City Music Hall," said Frank Supovitz, the NFL's senior vice president of events.

Held in New York City since 1965, the draft was held at the Javits Convention Center last year, moving out of the Theatre at Madison Square Garden because the NFL was upset with Garden management for opposing the proposal for a new stadium for the Jets on Manhattan's West Side.

Since opening its doors in 1932, Radio City Music Hall has hosted many of America's popular entertainers and a wide variety of shows.

I once tried getting in Radio City Music Hall.

Needless to say I failed.

Something to try again next time.

I'm so excited for the draft this year, I haven't been able to watch the entire first round in about 4yrs. And to have it on 2 networks? Heaven!

You're going Daunte HOF? I've always wanted to but the thought of driving from Kansas City to New York just to find that they have already given away all the tickets has always kept me from actually attending. The TV version is just fine though. I can flip through the channels during that 15-minute wait. It's way too long for an impaciant viewer like me.

I believe I'll just record it. That way I can skip the wait time, and enjoy more at ease later.

Same here, April 23rd 2005, TiVo was my best friend. I watched like the first 18 picks live (up until we got Erasmus) and just skipped to the picks for the rest of the draft. And I'm telling anyone who doesn't have it, it is the way to go.

well i live in nyc, i went to that nbadraft 04' but never nfl.

I do enjoy watching the 'Hair', Mel Kiper, get flustered when a player he has been touting gets passed...and passed...and passed. Great entertainment.
