NFC North: Vikings continue to build

Rivals.com has partnered with NFL scout and draft expert Frank Coyle of draftinsiders.com to analyze the five biggest needs of each NFL team. Today, we look at the NFC North.

The rivals of the NFC North should place a premium on finding defensive help in the 2008 NFL Draft. Particular areas of concern include defensive back and offensive tackle.....

Very interesting take on team needs.

Veteran Kenechi Udeze hopes to continue to play despite a serious illness.
Maybe I'm missing something.
Has anyone seen anything lately that would lead us to believe that Keneche might not only beat his illness but be strong enough to play this year?

Are we really in need for a TE?

??? Did Coyle not get the memo ???
We signed the renowned "headbanger" Ferotte so why would we make a move for J.P. Losman?
Just curious. :P

ahem...

It was an interesting take on team needs, how credible is this guy?
He seems to feel he knows particular players that the Vikings are interested in.. is this just from visits and talks?

I actually think a big time TE would really help this team...if we could get Bennett in the 2nd or steal him in the 3rd I would love it. He has loads of potential and could be a starter by the end of the year.

Depends what form of leukemia he has, there are those of varying severity.
That being said, if I was him, I wouldn't be thinking about playing anytime this season.
Hypothetically speaking, if the cancer went into remission he could probably get into shape by the end of the season.

Being he had the Vikings taking 5 or 6 guys in the middle of the first round (not exactly sure how many picks we'd have to give up to acquire picks 12 - 17) I'm guessing he's just blowing hot air.
He couldn't even identify which of our big needs we'd address in the first round, simply said there'd be talent available at every position in the middle of the round (duh!).
Funny thing is, people get paid to write stuff like that... amazing isn't it?
The true measure of a man is what he'd do knowing he'd never be found out.

There have been 2 or 3 threads that have had discussions around TE.
I am in the minority with you that we could help this team out by putting some real talent at this position.
I also think you could do this in the 3rd round.

I don't believe its an absolute must that we draft a TE, but if the right guy is there at the right spot,
I wouldn't be upset at all.

There are spots where we need depth and there are spots where we could use talent upgrade.
TE fits in the latter.
QB/WR/DE/OL and possibly CB fit in this category as well.
The other positions I see more as depth needs.

Thanks my friend.
That is kindof what I was looking for.

As I said in another thread, I had a cousin die of this when I was young so I am a bit familiar with the disease.
So I thought, based on his statement that maybe this guy had heard what form Keneche had.
