I'm not too sure about that gap between the 1st and 2nd round.

    pick value
    28 430
    29 420
    30 415
    31 410
    32 405
    33 250
    34 245
    35 240

Re: The NEW Draft Trade Chart

It definitely makes it easier to move up and grab a higher pick.
    Example a #17 and #47 pick gets you a #4/5.

Does seem to be some odd random point drops though... #32 to #33 drops from 405 to 250 points, just because its the difference between 1st and 2nd round?
#12 to #13 pick drops 40 points whereas before and after the drops are in the 10-15 range.
Guess they figure 12 is the magic number to draw a line in the talent status.

Overall, if the chart is used, it should show a lot more activity in draft trades.

I think that the gap has to do with length of contract and amount of bonus money that has to be extended to the pick.

I guess I didn't realize there was that big of a difference in bonus money between the 32nd and 33rd pick. I wonder how they're going to handle the 32nd pick this year? Could Miami get two players demanding first round money?

Is this part of the union agreement?
In that case the #33 pick can be a preferred spot over the #32 and it should actually be valued less.
Teams want talent, not big contracts.

If so, Miami might be ditching one of those two picks.
