This is a great point, I love Burleson and would hate to see him go, but if we get Cutler and still have a second and third rounder, it would be worth it.I wouldn't mind Burly coming back either. I am a little torn because I would sure love to have another 3rd rounder to help bait a trade. If Burly goes somewhere, we will get a 3rd round pick for him. That would give us 2 in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd. We can trade our 1st, a second, and a third to trade up in the draft and never lose a step.
I think a team like the Saints who need to rebuild would love to have all those picks. Just my opinion of course. I think it would be pretty tempting though.
If he remains a Vike, I'm okay with that too. He is a good WR when healthy and has good speed for the WCO.

Re: nate says vikings is reality!!
It would just be nice to have the main players signed so they could start learning the new WCO Childress is bringing. The sooner they start hitting the play book the better off we are.

Re: nate says vikings is reality!!
i wouldnt really mind losing him since we have 4 good WR in taylor K-rob M-rob T-will and this years draft is supposed 2 be deep so i wouldnt mind getting a 3rd rounder espescially if burly signs with houston.

Romero - Notebook: Burleson felt right at home
KIRKLAND  Nate Burleson could hardly keep the grin off his face.
His free-agent visit with the Seahawks concluded, he stood in the parking lot of team headquarters wearing a banana-colored linen suit.
Next to him stood his father, Alvin, who had come to headquarters to pick up his son and continue Nate's visit home.
That was just one of the perks of being back in Seattle, albeit briefly, for Nate Burleson.
The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and former O'Dea High School standout left Kirkland with a good feeling from the Seahawks.
"Mom [Valerie] and Dad would like to be around their grandchildren," said Burleson, who has two kids with his wife, Atoya.
"It's always good to be home," Burleson added. "This is a business trip. Any kid that plays football would appreciate playing the sport in the town where he grew up."
Burleson has a visit to the Houston Texans planned for Monday. As a restricted free agent, the 6-foot, 191-pound 24-year-old would cost the Seahawks their third-round pick in this year's draft if the Vikings didn't match the offer.
Burleson had 1,006 receiving yards in 2004, but that production dropped sharply last season because of injury. Burleson would like a long-term deal from the Vikings, who tendered him a one-year contract for $712,000 that he has not signed.
"In this business, anything's possible," he said. "I could stay with the Vikings under a long-term deal, or I could do the same with Seattle."

I guess it is only a reality if the Vikes match the Seahawks 7 year deal. I hope we keep him.
