5 years, 20 mill bonus, 2.5 mill/year plus 100,000 for each sack, and 10,000 for each tackle behind the LOS.
Total package between 35 and 45 mill?
    around 8 mill/year total?
that is the most important one..this team cannot afford to miss out on him..anything he asks for, he should get from us
Behold of the upcoming franchise tag
And yet we will still see post later on this year about how the Chiller should be fired because he didn't somehow find a way to circumvent that obvious move by the KC Chiefs.

Sometimes this place really does crack me up.
I really wish - for the 2nd year - that we somehow find more QB pressure up front.

I really don't care how they do it, just make it F'in happen. I have set my blind, stupid, ignorant, etc. offseason-eye on Justin Smith.

But eventually I still trust the coaches/front office to make better judgment than me. However if the don't realize/fix that problem by next season I'll fall of the wagon (for the first time).

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Jared Allen will NOT be available.
Carl Peterson has already gone on record saying that the Chefs will franchise him.

I am afraid he will be gone too. I will be happy with Booty in round 3.

    Re: My Offseason Dream

To start off with, I would trade for CB Lito Sheppard.

I reasoned this in a post from another thread:

A trade for him would be amazing. Probably would take something like our 3rd, our 6th and maybe a conditional 6th next year, but if we did this, our secondary would be set and we wouldn't need to draft a safety (let me explain) and we would be set in the secondary for years to come.

This year, we would have sharper and williams obviously at safety and with the addition of lito we would have him and antoine winfield starting at corner with cedric griffin in the nickel and marcus mccauley as a dime and charles gordon in there for depth/special teams.

Next year, cedric griffin moves to starting safety (where he played in addition to corner at Texas). Then we have him and williams at safety (both are young) and then at corner we have sheppard and winfield with mccauley as our nickel and gordon as our dime.

The year after that (or maybe one more) winfield will be too old to play corner and mccauley, who is loaded with potential, can step in across from sheppard. His physical strengths and his potential, combined with a few years of learning and playing in the nickel and dime should make him into a great player.

Anyway, basically i see this trade as a way to shore up our secondary for at least the next 5 years.
Looking at the first 4 rounds of the draft we would have one pick in each of the rounds.
Our remaining needs would be: QB, OT, TE, and DE with the rest of the draft being used for depth picks at positions such as: OL, DT and S

The next order of business would be to get rid of Bryant "Mount Dumb@ss" Mckinnie. I don't know what his problem is, but if I had a 49 million dollar contract I wouldn't be as much of an idiot as he is. But these type of people do NOT change which is clearly evidenced by the fact that he was in serious trouble with the love boat incident and did not learn. Talent wise he is probably worth the 10-20th pick in the draft but his past incidents and looming suspension will drive his value down a bit. Nonetheless he is a good player at an in demand position so I can see a team like St. Louis making a deal for him because Orlando Pace is essentially done. Not their 1st rounder, but their second rounder (33rd overall).

    Now the draft:

    1st Round:
    Pick 17 - QB Brian Brohm - 6'3 220 - Louisville
Reasoning: This pick makes sense if you are a fan of Tarvaris Jackson or a hater. Just like in Cleveland, this works out in favour of the team. You give Brohm a incentive laden contract and if Tarvaris plays good, then Brohm sits on the bench for dirt cheap and we can trade him a year or two from now for a 1st rounder or at worst 2nd. If Tarvaris tanks, then we have another option that has potential to be great. Even if we get Sage Rosenfels or Gus Frerotte or whoever this 'veteran' QB is, the bottom line is, if Tarvaris Jackson falters this year, we have no QB of the future, which means our window for a championship closes and we rebuild (winfield, birk, pat williams, etc. are nearing the end of their career). Brohm is an excellent talent who we would be lucky to have. He may even be ready to play this year as he is somewhat pro-ready. His scouting report is also very impressive.
    Scouting Report: http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/brian-brohm?id=198

    2nd Round:
    Pick 2 (33) - LT Sam Baker - 6'5 309 - USC
Reasoning: This is simple. With Bryant gone, we need a LT and Sam Baker is widely considered a natural LT. He can be plugged in from day one and have his development assisted by Steve Hutchinson who will help him on and off the field. This is a good pick becasue it fills a need and is not a reach.
    Scouting Report: http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/sam-baker?id=186

    Pick 16 (47) - DE Lawrence Jackson - 6'4 271 - USC
Reasoning: Simple pick again. Good value and a need. He is a productive player who is quick and strong (31 reps). He is a player with a lot of potential who could be very solid for a long time.
    Scouting Report: http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/lawrence-jackson?id=260

    3rd Round:
    Pick 19 (82) - TE Martellus Bennett - 6'6 259 - Texas A&M
Reasoning: We simply do not have a TE who can make an impact. Visanthe Shiancoe is paid like a TE who can do that but he simply isn't a game changer. This guy is big and fast. WE are horrible in the red zone and a big target at TE is key in th red zone.
    Scouting Report: http://warroomreport.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=174&Item id=51

The final roster would look something like this:

QB: Brian Brohm/Tarvaris Jackson - Brooks Bollinger
RB: Adrian Peterson - Chester Taylor - Maurice Hicks
FB: Thomas Tapeh - Jim Kleinsasser
TE: Martellus Bennett - Visanthe Shiancoe - Jim Kleinsasser
WR: Bernard Berrian - Sidney Rice - Bobby Wade - Robert Fergeson - Aundrae Allison
LT: Sam Baker - Artis Hicks
LG: Steve Hutchinson - Artis Hicks - Marcus Johnson
C: Matt Birk - "rookie" - Ryan Cook
RG: Anthony Herrera - Artis Hicks - Marcus Johnson
RT: Ryan Cook - Marcus Johnson
    ---------------------------------------------
LE: Ray Edwards - Erasmus James (INJ?)
DT: Kevin Williams - Pat Williams - Ellis Wyms
RE: Lawrence Jackson - Brian Robison
LOLB: Ben Leber - Rufus Alexander
MLB: EJ Henderson - Derek Pope
ROLB: Chad Greenway - Heath Farwell
CB: Antoine Winfield - Lito Sheppard - Cedric Griffin - Marcus McCauley - Charles Gordon/Benny Sapp
SS: Madieu Williams - Michael Boulware
FS: Darren Sharper - Michael Boulware - Cedric Griffin

This looks like a good mix of veteran players and young talent. We also have a lot of up and coming talent that gives us an excellent core of players. Young QB, RB, TE, WRs, OL. Other than Birk and Hutch, the offense is young and talented. The defense aso has some players that can contribute in the future (ie. Rufus Alexander and Marcus McCauley)

    So what do you think?
