Well we have a month to go and I wanted to update my draft dream.

1st: Alphonso Smith, CB or Hakeem Hicks, WR
    2nd: Phil Loadholt, OT
    3rd:
Brian Robiskie, WR or Jairus Byrd, CB
    4th: Sage Rosenfels, QB
    5th: Brannan Southerland, FB
    6th: Kelly Holcomb, QB
    7th: C
    7th: DT
    i almost completely agree sir!

1st: Alphonso Smith, CB or Hakeem Hicks, WR (which ever position we fill... the other is addressed in 3rd)
2nd: Phil Loadholt, OT or Duke Robinson OL (he can play any position)
3rd: No chance Robiskie is here still... Juaquin Iglesias WR or Victor "Macho" Harris CB or Nic Harris S/LB
    4th: Sage Rosenfels, QB
5th: Rhett Bomar, QB... real high on this kid right now...
    6th: Brannan Southerland, FB
    7th: C
    7th: DT
We don't have a 6th round pick. We traded it for Kelly Holcomb.
ah my bad haha put Southerland one spot down then... sorry it was out of it when i posted

thank you Josdin00 for the amazing sig!

I wouldn't complain about that draft.

    - I'm really interested in Kenny Britt, moreso than most.
    - I question whether Loadholt is good enough to start. If not I would seek depth at center/guard/DT earlier.
    - I don't know if drafting DB in the third is worth it. We have a ton of youth there and can a 3rd rounder really replace Winny? McCauley couldn't.
I like Britt too and would not be upset if he was taken instead of Nicks.

I don't understand why you would talk about Loadholt starting and then say you would use the pick for depth? Would't that be depth?

Is a 3rd rounder really going to replace anyone? This pick would be competition for the nickel slot. Gordon is coming off an injury so I am concerned.
I don't see a need for depth at RT, thus I don't the need to pick one unless it is to provide an upgrade over Hicks/Cook. Load holt would give us 3 RTs (4 if you count Johnson). I guess Loadholt would let us have Hicks as guard-only backup or Cook as center-only backup. Injuries would still cause a shuffle because our starting RT is our only backup guard. In that case why not just draft a center or guard?

I understnd the concerns about Gordon. For some reason I'm not concerned. I guess that is the difference.
Johnson is not on the team. Herrera is a guard that can play RT. Cook is a center that can play RT. We need a true RT.

Adding a C gives us 3 Centers (Cook, Sullivan, and draft)

I would not be against adding another Guard if Hicks is the starter at RT.

All the shuffling has gotten me confused. Is it ok to consider Cook a Center when he has never played that position in the pros? I consider them both primarily Tackles because that is what they played last year.

In the end I think a mid-round draft pick anywhere on the OL will provide the depth we need. I'm not sold on using the 2nd rounder for depth when there are other positions that a rookie could actually see time, even on ST.

Did we make any moves besides no names in Paymah and Holt?

We resigned Kleinsasser... which is huge in my opinion. He's my favorite Viking.

We gave Griff a contract extension... eh, if that counts.

I don't always see eye to eye with you C Mac, but you are on the money right there.

    Key Returners.....
Sauce - Key to our offense.
Almost like having a sixth OLmen on the field and he makes some nice catches when used.

Griff - Continues to get better every year.
I look to see him have a hell of a year this year.

    Kennedy - Solid signing.
Gives us depth as he definately has the talent.
Can the coaching staff get him motivated enough to be a DT even though he would like to be a DE?

Farwell - Still just a ST's LB'r, however, he does give us depth at the MLB position.
    Nice signing.

Gordon - He was progressing along nicely and was everywere on the field both on D and ST's.
Lets hope his leg is OK. Nice signing.

    Sapp -
Seems it takes a guy at least 2 years to really get a handle on the schemes we run. If he can keep his emotions in check, I bet he has a good year this year.

    Nice Additions.......
Glen Holt - Return numbers are very nice.
Don't expect much out of him with respect to being a reciever.
As I said, takes players a couple of years to get comfortable in the scheme.

Kenny Onatolu - I liked the Tuna's comments on cats like him coming out of the CFL and thier abilities to cover.
If nothing else, he should help shore up the ST's coverage unit and give us depth at LB.

    Walker, Paymah Rogers and Roberson.
Don't know that much about them but it does add some initial depth at 2 positions were we seem to always need it.
Should give the staff lots of young legs to work out in camp.

Not sure how Young, JJ and Daniels fit into the overall big picture but glad that at least JJ gets another look.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
